From what I have gathered, they tend not to kill their hostages since a dead hostage is worthless to them. They seem to have a pretty intense profit motive. They don’t appear to be suicidal. They may not think like you and me, but they don’t appear to be committed jihadists. I think if this fiasco goes badly for them, they would take notice.

And you don’t think the Iranians of al Qaida, et al will swoop in and “buy” this poor man (who did his part jumping overboard with no help from the U.S. Navy - I still can’t believe this - what on earth are their orders?).
