3. But it’s more than 8 full months to the Republican convention in Tampa. Prediction: if Gingrich has emerged as the nominee by then, the mood of that convention will be full unconcealed panic.

After Reagan finished his speech to the 1976 convention, the mood was Oh sh*t! We nominated the wrong guy. That could be euphoric compared to the mood after a Gingrich nomination.
