I consider myself a staunch liberal but revolution should be the last recourse. As Jefferson wrote “When in the Course of human events it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another and to assume among the powers of the earth,” We didn’t need a revolution last year. Changes, yes but revolution, no.

I particularly like the slightly later passage: “… a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.”

Present-day ‘revolutionaries’ usually fail this test badly, especially the RWNJ types.
