So, there was a lot of hype in NJ in the past couple of weeks because the new ARC tunnel groundbreaking took place. It’s a major infrastructure undertaking - $8.7 billion to build two new rail tunnels between NJ and NYC, which were originally set to expand Amtrak and NJ Transit service.

Corzine, Lautenberg, and Menendez all crowed about the federal aid for the project.

All of a sudden today, there’s a report saying that the federal portion - $3 billion or so may not be forthcoming after all, which begs the question what the heck were those three clowns doing in the first place, and where is the money when it was part of the porkfest (and was going to Amtrak, one of VP Joe Biden’s pet projects, even if he originally thought the tunnels were for car traffic).

How will we make up the shortfall? Taxes and tolls of course, but no one is saying.
