It depends on the region of France. The Vendee, for example, is still very Catholic. It’s actually one of the few places in the 1st World that has a growing order of Nuns. I don’t remember the name but if memory serves they’re a teaching order that provides many of the instructors for the area’s Catholic schools.

I’d expect some urban/rural differences, too. Gotta stay away from Hugenot turf, though.
