Another question: if Medicare is so horribly inefficient that reform will net savings worth hundreds of billions over just a few years, why isn’t the Administration and Congress working to fix those problems right now, regardless of how nationalized health care works out? If there’s really that much negligence and waste, shouldn’t that just be fixed, period, end of story? Why is fixing such an enormous waste being tied to the outcome of a completely unrelated issue?

That may be a red herring…I’ve seen reports of studies suggesting waste/fraud expenses may be as low as 3%…sure we’ve seen the news stories…if it were so common, it wouldn’t be news.
