IMO Democrats must be harsh and unwielding or this shit never ends until our democracy is dead. We can do that and still live according to our best ideals. Leading by example doesn’t work with a bad-faith partner

I’m not saying we should follow them. It’s a pattern the GOP continues to follow. “We’ll cut taxes, and if it tanks the economy, the Democrats will fix it.” “We can ignore the constitution, because Democrats will do the right thing when they’re in power.”
