That whole thing was a travesty on Sunday. I’m disgusted with ILWU local 10 and the talk amongst ourselves is that the longshoremen & port authority were in on the demonstration with ANSWER.

My dad is retired but back ten years now, he was part of Local 34 as a Marine Clerk and worked closely with Local 10. According to him, the protesters had no right to create a picket and should have been arrested on site by OPD so as to allow work on the ship.

The fact that longshoremen arrived and then left citing safety concerns all smells like a publicity stunt, especially given the fact that Local 10 recently condemned Israel’s boarding of the “humanitarian” vessel in international waters.
