The local utility company has control of mine, but it was voluntary and saves me quite a bit of money. It cycles off now and then, but I never really notice it.

How many people did the utility company hire to control your thermostat and everyone else’s? What was the increase in you utility bill AND, more importantly, are non-volunteers also paying a part of the increased costs on their own utility bills?

You have given a government controlled entity the ability to control the core temp of your home. TAKE BACK YOUR THERMOSTAT!
