I never understand why it is the Left that stands up for the religious, misogynistic regimes of the Middle East at the expense of Israel. I realize that there are folks like Pat Buchanan, but for the most part the Israel-bashers are of the Left, and yet they give aid and comfort to those whose values are presumably antithetical to their own.
