re: #89 Sharmuta

Oh- the anti-intellectual movement encompasses all of that. Somehow “intellectual” has become conflated with leftist/socialist/marxist, and not meant for folks on the right (like VDH or Sowell). It’s very much anti-Enlightenment.

I’ve become politically agnostic again, as far as parties are concerned. I didn’t sign up for anti-intellectualism. I knew this would happen. There were reasons that from the time I was 18 until I was 28 that I never voted. Even during that short time I got sucked into conspiracy land via the LP, I knew that I was a square peg in a round hole in any political party. Every one of them has one or more dealbreakers. My post 9/11 flirting with the Republicans in spite of the “fundies” that scared me off in the first place has pretty much come to an end now. Unless the democrats rediscover what the word “liberal” actually means and tells the Marxists to take a hike, I’m not giving them anything but the finger either.

Back to square one… at least I left myself registered “non-partisan” the whole time I’ve been registered to vote.

I still believe everything from this: littlegreenfootballs.com

That is why I am who I am politically, but unless they shape up and buy a clue or three, I’m done with looking the other way when it comes to asinine bullshit from the Republicans.
