KRAG EAT WORLD!!!
Even before their fall to Chaos the World Eaters were known as a bloodthirsty Legion, and becoming the chosen Legion of Khorne did little to change this. In battle they disregard mortal peril to sate their bloodlust in close combat, often displaying a berserker rage that makes them invulnerable to wounds that would kill even a Space Marine.
The preferred method of assault for the World Eaters is a Drop Pod assault, followed by a charge into enemy lines. They have also been known to drop right into enemy formations. Unlike other Space Marines who use tactical attacks with squads, the World Eaters tend to throw themselves as a whole force in the middle of battle.

I feel that people are a little unfair to Al Jazeera Arabic, when covering America and Israel, they often get both sides of the issue. It's just that groups like MEMRI often don't feel the need to translate the opposition, giving the impression that the Arab Media is far more extreme then it is.

I've seen translations by MEMRI of news programs where extremist rhetoric was presented, but the criticism of the rhetoric by other people was not presented at all.
I also disagree with the statement about the accuracy, they tend translate to make people more extremist then they are.

Very true and it's worse than that. The state controls all media. re: #48 Obdicut
The things said by the traders are just insane. How on earth do you get a corporate culture where the response to wildfires destroying property and killing people is "Burn, baby, burn!" and laughter?

The Corporation.
The documentary shows the development of the contemporary business corporation, from a legal entity that originated as a government-chartered institution meant to effect specific public functions, to the rise of the modern commercial institution entitled to most of the legal rights of a person. One theme is its assessment as a "personality", as a result of an 1886 case in the United States Supreme Court in which a statement by Chief Justice Morrison R. Waite[nb 1] led to corporations as "persons" having the same rights as human beings, based on the Fourteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution. The film's assessment is effected via the diagnostic criteria in the DSM-IV; Robert Hare, a University of British Columbia psychology professor and a consultant to the FBI, compares the profile of the contemporary profitable business corporation to that of a clinically-diagnosed psychopath. The documentary concentrates mostly upon North American corporations, especially those of the United States.
The film is in vignettes examining and criticizing corporate business practices. It establishes parallels between the way corporations are systematically compelled to behave and the DSM-IV's symptoms of psychopathy, i.e. callous disregard for the feelings of other people, the incapacity to maintain human relationships, reckless disregard for the safety of others, deceitfulness (continual lying to deceive for profit), the incapacity to experience guilt, and the failure to conform to social norms and respect for the law.

One of the stupidest and baffling decisions of all time. Corporations are so obviously different from individuals in so many ways, that basing the rights of them on the rights of individuals is almost capriciously idiotic. Corporations can be immortal, or they can 'die' to their own benefit. Corporations can 'live' somewhere they don't actually have to spend any time. There's any number of ways corporations are different from individuals; there are almost no ways they are similar.
Basing their rights on those of the individual is the largest slap in the face to individual rights that I can think of. And yet so many glibertarians find nothing wrong with it, see nothing wrong with these groups having power and rights and privileges that exceed those of the individual.
I blame Rand, but not nearly as much as I blame fuckers like Ryan who actually think she made sense.

No. We've never actually had an argument about it, because you just ignore what I'm saying, or you don't understand it.
Like right now.
When individuals group together to form a corporation that doesn't exclude their business practices from being regulated. If I'm missing something what individual right, other than free speech, are you talking about?
Seriously? The ruling that the 14th amendment applied to corporate 'people' grants every right that can be possibly construed as applying to a corporation. So, in other words, all of the rights in the bill of rights.
Do you actually not know that?

Do you also believe corporations should have to house soldiers, keep guns off their properties, or the government should be allowed to search & seize at will? To remind you:
I think groups should have rights, and strong ones. I am saying it is moronic to base them off of the individual.
Now can you please actually address what I'm saying and not your fatuous strawmen? Is it really that hard for you?
Again, here is the question:
Can you explain why it makes any sense to base the rights of corporations, which bear no resemblance to individuals, on the rights of individuals? Why does that make sense in the least?
If you can answer that, then we could actually have a discussion about what rights corporations and other groups actually should have. But I don't think you are ever going to produce even a semblance of a reasonable answer to that question.

Mitt Romney thinks we're in peacetime!
Barack Obama is facing a financial emergency on a grander scale. Yet his approach has been to engage in one of the biggest peacetime spending binges in American history. With its failed stimulus package, its grandiose new social programs, its fervor for more taxes and government regulations, and its hostility toward business, the administration has made the debt problem worse, hindered economic recovery and needlessly cost American workers countless jobs.
that is some great Romney right there

If a corporation is wholly owned by a group of individuals and those individuals unanimously agree to vote as a block, then the corporation is synonymous with the individuals' rights.
If the agreement is not unanimous then the corporation is no longer acting for all individuals and some individuals may claim that their individual rights are violated.
They may lose that claim based on the principles of majority rule, but the reverse is not true. Namely, a "corporation" cannot claim that its rights have been violated by a majority vote of its members.
Therefore, a corporation's rights are not synonymous with individual rights.
Needless to say, most corporate decisions regarding political activity are not taken as a result of voting.

Meh. It's going. Almost went back to sleep before but I decided to get up and do some chit. Walked to the store(s) and got a cup of coffee and a pack of cigs. Cold and windy out. The wind makes it cold of course. Sunny though but that's not a big deal to me -- it's usually sunny. What's up on your end?
The same-- what I said above and in email. Windy as hell here, also sunny. This is 'summer', they tell me.

Is the hem supposed to look that awful?
I would think NOT. Look at it. There's a partial seam showing at one section of the hem. That doesn't make any sense whatsoever. And the fabric looks pulled, like whoever constructed the thing either cut it wrong, or pulled and tugged at it while they were sewing. Gah. I used to sew quite a bit - and there is NOTHING about that dress that would pass muster.

I have seen many many Juggalos in Portland, in SE, standing outside venues for Mushroomhead (a band I quite like sometimes) they're not unusual here, they're actually quite well behaved from what i've seen, they're like goths, but more nerdy and younger. they hang out at the mall, they wear the ICP merch, they have face paint (usually not full facepaint, usually just enough to mark them as a juggalo) I usually see them in the game store or the food court
manhattan though!
I dunno, I bet portland jaggalos and manhattan juggalos ar eprobably going to be very different just because of location
I'm not sure if I have never seen these people, or if I just didn't identify them as a separate subspecies.

They flew from Corpus Christie, TX to Minneapolis, MN. I guess CO's take advantage of a student's requirements. They had 3 CO's they had to drop off in various cities and pick up going back. My son just called and said, Mom, it was so exciting "My wings got severely iced up and in one city I was landing in we had severe wind shear." Remember King & Spalding, the law firm that took and then dropped the DOMA defense case on behalf of the House GOP? Well, they're in Virginian news, as our AG just terminated his office's working relationship with them. The reason?
Accusing them of cowardice for dropping the DOMA case.
Virginia AG cancels King & Spalding work for state after "obsequious act of weakness" in DOMA case
Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli has terminated his office's relationship with King & Spalding, the Atlanta law firm that abrubtly dropped the U.S. House of Representatives as a client for purposes of defending the Defense of Marriage Act.
"King & Spalding's willingness to drop a client, the U.S. House of Representatives, in connection with the lawsuit challenging the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) was such an obsequious act of weakness that I feel compelled to end your legal association with Virginia so that there is no chance that one of my legal clients will be put in the embarrassing and difficult situation like the client you walked away from, the House of Representatives," Cuccinelli said in a letter to Joseph Lynch in the firm's Washington, D.C. office.
A copy of the letter was made available to The Washington Examiner. A request from the newspaper for a response has been emailed to Lynch.

I don't like the way he slides the B7th to A7th.. I'm old school with that..And I don't like how he incorporates the Em Vamp lead into a rock song.. It's got too much fusion in it.. It's a rock song damn it! Stick with the way Jimmi played it.. None of that 1-2-4 shit on the high E and B strings...

it was at the Lisner where I met Levon Helm and almost pee'd myself....he walked right up to me standing there and introduced himself!...shit happens....once I figured out how to work it, via tour managers etc, I was in....when you explain you've come 1000 miles for two shows, more often than not they toss me a VIP Backstage pass and presto, the rest was hidtory...I sat for a half hour drinking beer with John Hiatt in Ann Arbor, just him and me while his crew broke down his stuff....man, I had loved that guy for decades....I digress

I don't have any actual deadlines due until next week, and my wife's on vacation. I should have known, though, since my friend's party I'm going to tonight hasn't happened yet.
Chronology will not be my strong suit.

No, they both got smacked dead between the eyes with the realization yesterday. Which is hilarious, because all week, I've been talking about what we'd be doing this weekend to celebrate.
Enough to make a guy feel unloved.../

Hey. Yeah, saw that. Too much booze.
Saw this earlier though about the UK...

I love London, but Brits drink 2 much. In 20 min I just saw 25 drunks, 3 vomiters, 5 public pee-ers, and 4 passed out people. Yuck

I've heard that people in Amsterdam are shocked by the amount of weed the Brits smoke too - they think we're crazy.

I think the local Dutch people are more easy going about the whole business because they know that getting it is totally unproblematic for them. I think people are more likely to abuse the stuff when supply is intermittent and quality is hit and miss.

Brits on holiday are terrifying.
When we went to Quebec on weekend in the 70s we were kind of taken aback. It was this massive campground. Forget about sleeping and the place reeked of something that we thought might have been cheese fondue mixed in the RV septic tanks. Don't remember if they went nuts but they were all babbling most of the night.

It's also just true that Brits on holiday are terrifying. My theory is that you're all so unused to sunshine that it fries your brains. :)

But there used to be-- pub's early closing times. I think a lot of people developed this culture where you drink like the place is about to shut, ordering two at a time.

Oh yeah - I'd advise anyone thinking of a European trip to stick to the cultural spots and avoid the popular Brit destinations like Lanzarote, Ibiza, Tenerife, Costa Del Sol etc. Nightmare.

Illegal, but you are unlikely to get busted unless you walk right up to a bobby and offer him a toke.

Yep.
And here's a question: Do big cats like catnip like small cats do?
Here's the answer:
338 | Winny Spencer Sat, Apr 30, 2011 1:10:40pm |
Growing up, my whole family except for me was allergic to both cats and dogs.
Luckily, my aunt had cats, and new kittens every summer. Sweet memories.

BP is a corporation.
A corporation now has rights based on an individual.
BP should therefore be charged with 11 counts of murder because of their negligence in the Gulf.
Two edged sword and all that.
hahaha well done
I'd like to see BP put away in supermax! Maybe in solitary. Same with a lot of Wall Street. Ruining the world. Old boy networks.
Corporate personhood = American serfdom
It's comin' guys :)
