Nah. During a roast, the targets of the jokes understand that everything’s in good fun and don’t take anything personal. This is one of those instances where we can be sure the targets of the president’s jokes will be screeching like angry bats come tomorrow.

Their transition temperature is much likely significantly lower than this, which would produce behavior that we associate with a liquid. It is, in fact, a super-cooled liquid.

Maddow: Right wing fringe is now a cynical money-making ‘racket’
Men like Alex Jones and Glenn Beck, said Maddow, are monetizing their fame in any way they can. If you’re already in a relationship and don’t need Info Wars dating, you can still buy some Glenn Beck pants or some Rush Limbaugh iced tea.
Rep. Ron Paul (R-TX), who Maddow “has always counted on the conspiracy theorists to be part of his base,” has now left Congress and decided to get back in bed with the right wing fringe. Friday, he appeared on Alex Jones’ radio show.
“Remember,” Maddow said, “the chief Alex Jones conspiracy theory right now is that the White House bombed the Boston Marathon. The government did it as a false flag attack as part of a New World Order conspiracy involving Marxism and fascism and helicopters and something about Mexico.”
“Honestly,” she confessed. “I got lost trying to figure it out.”
The whole business seems more and more like an elaborate scam, she said.
“These guys have a good racket going and they have all been in the racket for decades,” she continued. “You know, it’s always the end of the world but not quite yet. Subscribe for one more month, because then it will be the end of the world, only $19.95 and yes, you can pay in gold.”

Oh this could prove to be interesting. From an interview with Steven Moffat. Show-runner of Dr. Who:
Doctor Who’s Steven Moffat has revealed new details about series finale ‘The Name of the Doctor’.
The showrunner promised that ‘The Name of the Doctor’ will “change the course of Who forever”.
“It’s full of surprises and questions that have never been answered in the history of Who, including the Doctor’s greatest secret,” Moffat claimed.
“We’ll also find out what makes his new companion [Clara, played by Jenna-Louise Coleman] so impossible and there’s a surprise that no-one has got right so far.”
Coleman previously appeared on Doctor Who as spacefaring Oswin and Victorian governess Clara, with the Doctor attempting to unravel the mystery of her multiple identities in recent episodes.
Hinting at what to expect from the finale, Coleman teased: “All I can say is that Clara hasn’t just met the Doctor three times before.”
My thoughts:
I don’t know what secret this is with the Doctor, but I think Clara might be Susan Foreman is some form or another. Or perhaps the first’s wife who gave him children in the first place. This season has been full of callbacks to the classic era.

The bill you’re talking about exempts the Department of Defense and only applies to domestic agencies stockpiling ammunition. DHS and other domestic law enforcement agencies would be prohibited from making purchases if their supplies exceeded one month’s average usage as measured pre-Obama.
It’s definitely a gigantic pile of DERP, but has nothing whatsoever to do with the Armed Forces.

It’s also unlikely to pass. The NRA doesn’t support it, nor does the GOP’s House or Senate leadership. If it makes it out of committee, House Majority Leader Cantor will ensure it does not get the ‘rule’ it needs to reach the House floor.

Peachy is down South. Up here in Illinois it’s ducky, because of all the ducks and geese passing through or taking up their summer homes.

That can become a problem. The Chicago area actually has a number of businesses that will shoo away Canadian Geese that try to take up residence. The methods are non-lethal, as they must be in the spring (Canada Geese can only be hunted in season (fall) in Illinois).

They do that around here too sometimes, but it doesn’t work in some ponds and small lakes because they have more than one nesting pair. Occasionally access to the nests is simply impossible, as there are simply too many adult geese around. Anyone trying to addle their eggs would simply be bitten.

Some other places in Chicagoland have become release areas for trumpeter swans, but they only will chase off geese once the swans lay their own eggs. And swans are just as aggressive as geese in defending their eggs and young (called cygnets in swans).

Wisconsin Republicans
Wis. committee votes to cut DNR positions
The Legislature’s budget committee has voted to eliminate 32.1 positions in the state Department of Natural Resources.
Sen. Glenn Grothman, a West Bend Republican, proposed the cuts during a meeting Thursday to begin voting on revisions to Gov. Scott Walker’s executive budget. Grothman said the jobs have been open for at least a year. His formal motion didn’t explicitly say the positions to be cut would be vacant ones, though.
Committee Democrats argued Grothman’s proposal included no information about the positions. Republicans countered the DNR must be getting along without the positions since they’ve been open for months. The committee ultimately approved the proposal on a 12-4 party line vote.

Is there a way to just get baby pictures from FB and not have to see the rest of it?

Jut to play Devil’s Advocate on this issue, I undersand the importance of keeping those engineers and specialists on the job and honing their skills.
But to play Devil’s Doublecrosser, the same argument can be made for funding a lot of non-military research in science and technology.

Police called after woman sees kittens having sex in her yard
Sure, cats aren’t for everyone. But we can’t remember the last time someone called the police to complain about a pair of kittens.
But that’s exactly what happened in Wisconsin on Thursday when a woman called police after she reportedly witnessed two kittens “having sex” in her front yard.

The first all-plastic 3D-printed gun will be available to download in two weeks
Cody Wilson, the founder of Defense Distributed, says he is just two weeks away from 3D printing an entire handgun, out of ABS plastic. Once Wilson has printed the gun and ensured that it works, the weapon’s 3D model files will be uploaded to the internet and open sourced — so that you and I can print an almost-undetectable firearm.

This has me considering pre 9/11 when the Clinton WH and DOJ were in a tizzy over encryption software like PGP being in the hands of the public, and had an algorithm declared as munitions and subject to export controls. My memory is fuzzy, so I may have parts wrong, but the whole gist of this is wondering where is the government on this man enabling terrorists, domestic or otherwise, with undetectable weapons?
