David Duke Expelled from Czech Republic

World • Views: 3,228

The Czech Republic has expelled American white supremacist creepazoid David Duke from the country:

PRAGUE, April 25 (Reuters) - Czech police released former Ku Klux Klan leader David Duke early on Saturday and expelled him from the country, his lawyer said.

The American was detained on Friday on suspicion of denying the Holocaust, an offence punishable by up to three years in prison under Czech law.

Klara Slamova, the lawyer representing Duke who was on a visit at the invitation of an extremist group, said Duke had left the country after being ordered out by police.

“I can confirm that he has left the Czech Republic,” she said.

And remember, when David Duke went to Belgium to take part in a skinhead summit meeting (which included Nick Griffin of the BNP), his host for the weekend was a local council member of the Belgian Vlaams Belang party: When Eurofascists Meet.

What is in the water in the Czech republic that is missing here? Must be a realization of what tyranny truly means.

GAZA CITY, Gaza Strip — A Palestinian health official says a man has been killed in an accident while working in one of the smuggling tunnels under the border between the Gaza Strip and Egypt.

Health official Moawia Hassanein says a 22-year-old man was electrocuted by cables he had rigged for light and power in the tunnel.

Well I guess they didn't have to go far to bury him?

Unfortunately not. My wife is a telephone triage nurse ("advice nurse") and they've been told that the current year's flu shot didn't match well to the current year's flu strains. And a brand new strain won't have a matching vaccine in good supply for months, by which time it may be too late for the vaccine to be helpful in controlling the outbreak.

Utter bullsh*t, of course. They could halt travel to/from Mexico for a few weeks starting right now. The few cases that already made it into the USA would spread a little bit into localized foci and then die out (not the people, the specific strain of flu).

But that's not politically correct. We may be watching the first pandemic caused by political correctness.

They haven't told us much about the people who died of the current flu. Were they peasants who didn't have access to medical care and didn't understand the importance of hydration when dealing with fevers and upper respiratory viruses? Did they also develop the gastrointestinal problems, which would make their disease even more dangerous?

Did they develop secondary bacterial infections (some reports say most Mexican deaths were due to pneumonia--perhaps bacterial pneumonia? who knows?).

The flu shot from last year predicted this flu?

This year's flu shot contained two (A) strains (H1N1 and H3N2) as well as a (B) strain. This swine flu is an (A) strain of type H1N1. Though it is different and not entirely protective the flu shot this year likely offers some degree of protection.

All I heard is most of those who fell ill were ages 25-45. I'm not sure about the deaths. One wonders if those fell ill because that's the age range where flu shots are optional as opposed to recommended as it is for the very young and very old.

Italian Mafia Rakes in Billions as Global Economy Struggles
Saturday, April 25, 2009
PrintShareThis
NAPLES, Italy — While businesses around the world are hunkering down for survival, the Italian mob is living a golden moment.

Italy's various organized crime syndicates — often lumped together colloquially as Mafia Inc. — are gobbling up gas stations, muscling in on supermarket franchises, making loans to cash-starved businesses, taking over trattorias and acquiring buildings in swank neighborhoods in Rome and Milan, investigators say.

These mobsters have lots of what is in short supply for many businesses these days — liquidity — as well as centuries-honed expertise in preying on the vulnerable, whose ranks are swelling in the current financial crisis.

According to the most recent MMWR the Americans affected include people who received the flu shot and people who didn't. None of the Americans developed secondary bacterial pneumonia (all have recovered I believe) but there is concern some of those in Mexico did.

The deaths were primarily among the 25-45 age bracket ... in Mexico. Do you really think most people in Mexico get flu shots?

But we don't know, and likely won't ever know, the socio-economic status of folks who died vs those who just got the flu and then got quality medical attention and survived.

My husband's parents lived in Mexico City for several years, and it's definitely not what you'd call a clean or wealthy place.

re: #65 rawmuse

Can anyone tell me how that expulsion worked? What were the actual mechanics of the situation?

A quick scan of his Wiki says that he started out as a Democrat. It looks like he tried a number of ways to get elected to various things; eventually he started running as a Republican (by challenging "other" Republicans), and the Republican party threw their support behind his opponents. Eventually when he ran for the presidential nomination, he was "repudiated":

In 1992 Duke attempted to run for the Republican Party presidential nomination, but the Republicans completely repudiated his campaign. He received votes in several primaries, but no delegates.

I don't know if there's a formal way to throw someone out of the party. It's a question I've asked before, because I don't know how you'd go about that other than to just shun someone. Ron Paul doesn't consider himself an authentic Republican either, as I understand it, but has rather used the party to get elected in a Republican state.

Little known David Duke fact... from Wikipedia (so please use a liberal definition of the word "fact")

In 1976 Duke published a women's self-help book titled Finders-Keepers to raise money. He used the pseudonym Dorothy Vanderbilt. The book includes advice on vaginal exercises, fellatio, and anal sex. The book is out of print and difficult to find; however, a New Orleans newspaper, The Times-Picayune, managed to obtain a copy and traced its proceeds to Duke. He compiled the information from women's self-help magazines.

Much ado has been on these threads made of such an action as regards this and that person. I am just curious how the heck it comes down.

My understanding is that it comes down in the form of (a) shunning and (b) denunciation by official representatives of the Party.

I know that there's no ceremony akin to the one at the opening of the old TV show branded: no insignia torn off, no saber busted over an officer's knee. But whenever David Duke opens his mouth and speaks "as a Republican," representatives of the GOP make it clear that he's not welcome to identify himself that way.

Being of Czech background(Kalishek is a misspelled czech name) , I tend to give short shrift to Deniers like Duke. Not at all Jewish, and in fact some of my ancestors were rather antisemitic, but many a Gypsy, Czech, and Slav were "baked" along side the Jews in the camps.

I lived in Lousyana at the time Duke ran in the runoff for Gov. My bleeding heart Aunt and "Thought he was a Dem" Uncle both registered to vote so they could vote for Duke. To this day, the only "Republican" they ever voted for.
Me?
Well my favorite bumper sticker of the time was "Vote For The Crook! It's Important"
The crook won (Edwin Edwards later served time in jail for some of his actions as Gov in that term). It is also the only time I happily voted for a Democrat.
