Well, I heard the people getting most ill from this current strain did not receive a flu shot this year. Intuitively that would make one think there might be some cross strain protection. We’ll see how it pans out though

They haven’t told us much about the people who died of the current flu. Were they peasants who didn’t have access to medical care and didn’t understand the importance of hydration when dealing with fevers and upper respiratory viruses? Did they also develop the gastrointestinal problems, which would make their disease even more dangerous?

Did they develop secondary bacterial infections (some reports say most Mexican deaths were due to pneumonia—perhaps bacterial pneumonia? who knows?).
