Love to have that playing over a fine dinner out.
Or in maybe… ;-) What a clean smooth voice.

Some recently-banned putz posted an attack on LGF at my blog and tried to recruit me and some remaining others of the “Class of ‘04” to join the stalkers.

What a pathetic shmuck! The little opus has been deleted.

Things like that are why I’ve assumed a low visibility stance in regards to additional blogging and making my email available.

No kidding. West of the mountains it’s in the high 90’s. It was forecast to be hotter than yesterday but it looks like the temps won’t make it quite as high as forecast.

One thing though - it is quieter. The heat discourages lots of unnecessary activities.

106 where I’m at right now. Ice cream truck is coasting down the block. Kids are getting out all this week at noon for parent conferences.

Whoopsss… wrote too soon. Just checked the hourly temp records from today and it looks like the highs were reached before noon, which is unusual.

Fuck the stalkers. I’m not changing anything just to avoid them.

Well, to be fair, my natural distrustful nature and penchant for assholeness means I never really changed from stance from the beginning, but the few times I have made my email available, I’ve gotten little love notes, so I’ve decided never again.

We got a blast of ocean air a couple of hours ago that dropped the temps around here about 10 degrees.

A scorcher in the foothills:

Important fashion tip: If riding a mechanical bull, please wear proper attire, unless of course you’re a hot chick and then its perfectly acceptable.

I wonder if they’re going to call for a UFO Nuremberg.

Lowell George’s daughter. This is the girl Jackson Browne wrote the song “Of Missing Persons” for. Very nice.

What is this rain you speak of?

Something that we did not have for 12 days this month. My water tank was empty for two days before some wet stuff put enough water to get the pump working.

Even North Island NAS peaked at 100F ! That was just before 11am.

[Link: www.wrh.noaa.gov…]

Coronado, being an island in the bay, rarely gets above 90F.

I think its rained for a day or two this year. I’m sure it had to, but I can’t recall.

Yeah, it did. The recent strong El Nino brought heavy rains to the county (remember?)… however, I think the totals overall average out to only be around “average” looking at the very long term averages. So, while we had more rain this year than in previous years it still wasn’t very much.

Lots more is just creepy weird. LA 90014 was the hottest place for hundreds of miles. Hotter than Palm Springs. Hotter than Chatsworth, hotter than the death valley! My source all day is intellicast local interactive weather mp. It’s flash, so I can not easily grab it for a page or link. Utterly low single digit humidity too. This was said to be the hottest ever in records that go to 1877. A truly bizarre pattern emerged today.

I’d call for a look first at the Officers club bar tabs of said Air Force pilots at about the time.

Obama argues his assassination program is a “state secret”

In response to the lawsuit filed by Anwar Awlaki’s father asking a court to enjoin the President from assassinating his son, a U.S. citizen, without any due process, the administration late last night, according to The Washington Post, filed a brief asking the court to dismiss the lawsuit without hearing the merits of the claims.

What’s most notable here is that one of the arguments the Obama DOJ raises to demand dismissal of this lawsuit is “state secrets”: in other words, not only does the President have the right to sentence Americans to death with no due process or charges of any kind, but his decisions as to who will be killed and why he wants them dead are “state secrets,” and thus no court may adjudicate their legality.

A truly bizarre pattern emerged today.

The temps rose quickly with the sunlight. Down here they peaked around max sunshine. Then (for some of us) there was an on-rush of air from the ocean that cooled the temps quite quickly.

RECORD HOT DAY TODAY…AS A STRONG RIDGE OF HIGH PRESSURE ALOFT PEAKED OVER NEVADA AND A -3MB OFFSHORE GRADIENT FORMED AND PERSISTED WELL INTO THE AFTERNOON. MANY RECORDS FELL TODAY…INCLUDING A FEW ALL-TIME RECORDS LIKE DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES…WHICH HIT 113 DEGREES.
