Its more important too look like you’re doing something than to actually do something.

What happened to needing lots of time for debate?

I guess it doesn’t count when you’re repealing stuff. You don’t need to think at all then. You just throw stuff out.

God help me, I love political theater.

“You don’t need to think” is the new GOP mantra.

I don’t blame them for holding this vote. They ran on this, and now they have to deliver whatever they can.

Granted, it is unlikely to result in any meaningful accomplishment, but symbolic acts are part of the culture and tradition of the Congress.

If anything, the Dems asked for this by setting the legislation up with such long lead times to full implementation. Shame on them for that.

They are trying to shove this repeal down our throats.

What’s going to be interesting is what’s going to happen when/if the GOP takes the senate in a few years. they won’t be able to repeal health care reform but I think they can still kill it by refusing funds. It’s another one of those things that I suspect they might not have the guts to actually follow through. People would be really pissed.

And God help us all if their political theater extends to voting to send us into default in order to make a symbolic point to the teabaggers.

I wonder what it costs to run congress for a week? Proposing stupid stuff like this seems rather, well, fiscally unconservative to me. Kinda like when they would trot out “defense of marriage” before the elections of 2002 and 2004 to try to get the crazies motivated to vote.

What I find so pathetic, is that the Baggers actually think that stunts like this are actually “substantive.” I want you Baggers that are all about efficiency in government, that rage about government waste and spending, to get off your fat asses and tell these new “leaders” of yours to stop f***ing around. You know there is no way in hell this will EVER get through the Senate, so if you morons are truly honest, you will say “This is a waste of the taxpayers’ time and money; Get on with the business of GOVERNING.”

I’m still fuming mad about that jackass Bachmann (R-Mars) on Sunday, without blinking an eye talking about all this government spending bullshit the last two years, when the president that’s on his rewriting history tour Bush jacked government spending three-fold over Clinton. The hypocrisy and idocy amazes even the most jaded and cynical like me. Fucktards!

Sorry, idiocy. The steam coming out of my ears caused the typo.

and just in time FOX “News” has started ramping up the Death Panel lie again. Has there ever been a more sinister force in American politics than Fox “News” ?
