The anti-Griswold contingent of the GOP has no problem getting rid of those as well.
Dead serious on this. If Griswold falls, we go back to each state being able to ban any and all birth control, sex toys etc…and it would have a disasterous effect on several other section of law that ruled on an individual right to privacy which is what Griswold established.

And that is why some of the Framers did not want a Bill of Rights. They feared that enumerating some rights would lead to confusion that only those rights actually existed.

Kyollo v US is the case about using thermal imaging. It seems to trace back via Katz and the defense is based on the 4th Amendment. It appears that the Griswold decision was set via interpretations of the 5th and 9th Amendments, along with the due process clause of the 14th.

So after a whole day of dealing with idiot derp on FB I finally blew my top.
Female RWNJ dipshit tells me:
Regardless of what I feel the right or wrong governmental role or decision should have been, I’m really tired of all the women talking about pregnancy like it’s something that just happens to you. It’s not cancer, or alzheimer’s, you still have a say in whether or not you get pregnant! Pregnancy isn’t dictated by whether or not someone else pays for your contraception. I find crying “second class citizen” because personal accountability isn’t at the top of your priority list far more demoralizing to women’s rights than this decision.
I finally reached the end of my patience. I responded:
What total horseshit, [name]. Exactly how do you expect a woman to have a say in whether or not she gets pregnant IF SHE CAN’T AFFORD BIRTH CONTROL? It’s women like you that ruin it for the rest of us. You’re too blind to see that the whole point here is access to health care that a woman pays for in her premiums that she has DEDUCTED FROM HER PAYCHECK at work. She’s paying for health insurance so she can have access to services including birth control. Why shouldn’t she be able to do it? Why does a woman have to settle for less coverage for the same exact premiums that men pay at work?
It’s such total BS to tell a woman ” Oh, take responsibility!” then turn around and then take away the means for her to take responsibility. WTF. Make up your damned mind. Women can’t be expected to take responsibility for their fertility then be denied the means to do so via the health insurance THEY PAY FOR at work. You assholes can’t have it both ways.
I am finally at the stage where I am refusing to be civil. Fuck these people.

“…with an increasingly multi-religious America, subsequent claims may not be as beloved to conservatives as this one. May pious Muslims ban immodestly dressed women, or all women for that matter, from their company’s stores? May they refuse to hire women as employees?
Or, as Justice Ginsberg noted, how about corporations owned by people who are religiously barred from blood transfusions (Jehovah’s Witnesses), antidepressants (Scientologists), and vaccinations (Christian Scientists)? On its face, Hobby Lobby says it’s not about those cases. But its logic certainly applies: if I believe that vaccinations are morally wrong, my company should not have to provide coverage for them.”

She responded:
You make some valid points, and before the name calling we may have even gotten along and had some views in common. I’m simply saying that If I don’t want to have a baby, my employer choosing not to cover contraception isn’t going to be the SOLE deciding factor. For example, condoms at Planned Parenthood are still free. This may not be an outcome I’m happy with either (shocking right? considering you know me so well), but I certainly don’t consider myself a second class citizen because of it. If you do, that’s your prerogative. I’m going to continue not getting pregnant either way.
My response:
So you’re okay with being forced to double dip into your wallet to pay for health care? That’s stupid. If you’re paying the same premiums as a man you should damn well expect the same level of health care coverage. You shouldn’t be forced to go and pay out of pocket for something that is routine health care and for something YOU’RE ALREADY PAYING FOR. I’m not okay with that. It’s not my employer’s business if I use birth control to manage my PCOS or to prevent pregnancy. They don’t get to decide my health care regimen. That’s up to me and my doctor. So yeah, this decision makes women second class because it says that employers can interfere in their healthcare decisions despite the fact that women are paying the same premiums as men. It’s bullshit.

'Free Speech Exercise' Brings Charges For Man Who Claimed Ties To Vegas Shooters @TPM http://t.co/MRAiU36Lro— Kragar (@Kragar_LGF) June 30, 2014
In a long post, reprinted in the affidavit, Bradbury allegedly claimed ties to the Millers, former Indiana residents who earlier this month killed three people, including two police officers, in Las Vegas before killing themselves. At the end his post, Bradbury wrote: “FREE SPEECH EXERCISE FOOLS.” But above that disclaimer, Bradbury wrote that he ran a local anarchist “cop killing” group that had counted the Millers among its members — until the group discovered the Millers were police informants.
“I can’t keep silent on this conspiracy anymore,” Bradbury allegedly wrote. “I have to reveal some truth. My buddy and comrade Ant has been catching some flack for some of his posts about killing cops. I have to let the truth out. Jerad and Amanda Miller were losers. They were part of out [sic] group, the 765 Anarchists, the town’s cop killing group run by none other than myself, Sam Bradbury. When we discovered that Jerad and Amanda were [confidential informants] and in with the boys in blue, we sent them out to the Bundy Ranch to cause controversy elsewhere because we didn’t need them snitching on our business. I hadn’t heard from him since that event, but some of our comrades gave the command and that’s why Jerad and Amanda miller [sic] killed those cops in Las Vegas.”

CONCLUSION:
No.
Google image search only comes up with that lame blog IsraelMatzav. And some Hebrew blog Aharedim.
IDF isn’t likely to use a typical ambulance in that area. It definitely looks like a Hummer… with the red light on the passenger side fender/hood area. Driver’s window looks a bit shattered. They use paint bombs a lot to block vision.
Conclusion: Who knows.

Apparently, they’re pro-Israel advocates. Nothing wrong with that per se, but not exactly impartial. I’d be equally wary of a pro-Palestinian news source:
Additionally, I still can’t locate a confirmed photo—not from Taztpit or anywhere else but right-wing sites like Arutz Sheva & the Jewish Press (here’s VB’s handy list of Israel-related news sources in case anyone didn’t bookmark it).

He’s not ever going to stop with this dishonest bullshit, of course, because he isn’t trying to be honest, he’s being a snarly little chihuahua for his cult leader, the Mighty Greenwald.

Blowhard can’t read.
…I have watched, for the better part of a year, a number of decent human beings including, but not limited to, Pamela Geller, Paul Belien, Diana West, the Baron and Dymphna from the Gates of Vienna blog and many others, being at the receiving end of a vicious smear campaign from Charles Johnson and Little Green Footballs which is unlike anything I have seen in my life. After engaging in an insane witch-hunt on imaginary Fascists, whose ranks seem to grow every month, Mr. Johnson now suddenly chooses to look the other way in silence when very real Fascists use violence to silence their critics in a major Western city. I admit that makes me angry, and I think I have the right to be so.
The time has now come for Mr. Johnson to apologise in public to the numerous people he has smeared since the fall of 2007, starting with the ones I have mentioned above. It’s not their credibility that’s on the line here. It’s his. If he continues to undermine those confronting Islamic infiltration, it will become increasingly difficult for LGF to present itself as an anti-Jihad website at all. At some point, the rapidly shrinking number of people in the northern hemisphere who haven’t been banned from the site yet will be forced to ask themselves whether the website and its owner have simply switched teams and joined the Dark Side…

My first one was free for me (where I was paying a $25 each month for my current choice) because it’s cheaper for the insurance companies.
But that was through my school-brokered insurance, and I was fortunate to go to a relatively liberal private institution where I could pay through the nose for a plan that at least covered most things as long as I used the school’s medical system.

Yeah, got some of the old guard DoD nutbars chiming in that Breivik quoted Charles early and often, ignoring that context means everything - and that he was attacking Charles for going after the likes of Geller, Spencer and the hate-Muslim brigade, as well as their descent into the nether regions of the neo-fascists (like VB and the like). Breivik, like Geller, Spencer and the rest sided with the xenophobes.

Here’s how the IRS defines “closely held corporation”:
Has more than 50% of the value of its outstanding stock owned (directly or indirectly) by 5 or fewer individuals at any time during the last half of the tax year; and
Is not a personal service corporation.Basically, “closely held” is a term that covers as much as 90 percent (or more) of all businesses, according to a 2000 study.
But while it covers the vast majority of employers, it doesn’t necessarily cover the vast majority of employees. That’s because publicly traded companies tend to have many more employees than private ones.
Still, according to studies from Columbia University and New York University, closely held corporations employed 52 percent of the American workforce and accounted for slightly more than half — 51 percent — of economic output from the private sector.

The decision went out of its way to say that it wasn’t about anything other than lady bits and specific types of birth control that the owners of HL were opposed to. Which gives away the game - because the belief that these items were something they weren’t shows that it had no relationship to science or the facts.
So what happens when a corporate plaintiff objects to other forms of birth control, or to all forms of birth control?
Alito’s dicta are totally useless for figuring out the metes and bounds of this newly-created right for corporation to be religious.

They aren’t saving any by denying this particular product from coverage. What they might save, they’ll spend in spades in covering pregnancies that were unwanted by their employees. Pregnancies are more expensive than the birth control they’d deny.
So, it’s not only about the money. It’s about control. It’s about imposing a factually challenged belief on their employees that has nothing to do with religion (but included by the Court under the rubric of religious freedom).

I’m pretty sure the Dr. visit is free too - at least one visit a year (?) is free. It is considered part of the preventative care benefit.
Not that this takes away from VB’s main point - the insurance is a job benefit (and usually the employees pay part of the premium as well), and removing certain kinds of care forces those employees to pay twice. It is just in the name of accuracy - no copays for birth control.

It’s certainly a highlight for why I won’t vote Republican until they prove to me that they’re over this social conservative bullshit.
My wish list for GOP reform includes at least the following as essentials:
1) No more bigotry. This specifically includes racism, homophobia and misogyny.
2) An end to the anti-science bullshit.
3) An end to the so-con religious bullshit.
4) A foreign policy that is grounded in reality.
5) An end to the continual demagoguery via Fox News and Hate Radio.
6) Honesty about what their economic policies would actually do, as opposed to endless lies about them.

Yeah, I’m not holding my breath. I pay attention to what is going on because I believe in knowing the other side, but…
I’ve said it before that my first memory of the GOP was Clinton’s impeachment. Not a good start, and it’s only been downhill from there. I’m perfectly comfortable exercising my rights in the primary to choose the politician that best fits my views there, but barring that, I’m going to do what I can to keep power out of the hands of people who feel that ignorance is good and that my uterus and bedroom is their business.

After today’s nonsense at the Supreme Court, I hope anyone having any qualms about supporting Hillary Clinton (should she win the nomination) reconsiders.
The next President will likely get to appoint three Supreme Court justices and, given the various ages of the Justices, will likely set policy for the next twenty years.

That was my thinking in 2008. I paid little attention to the Obama vs. Clinton in the Democratic primary, since it was a given that I would vote against the (R), and there wan’t much of a difference between the two on policies.
One upside of this is that Obama has been less of a disappointment to me than he has been to people who took his campaigning more seriously.

One day, I made my dad a nice lunch of soup an a sandwich. Just as he started eating, one of his friends, whom I couldn’t stand, came by and he, the friend, basically told me to get him some lunch as well.
I’m all thinking, ” This m-f’ker better not smack my behind…” But I obliged him.
For his trouble, he got a sandwich and a bowl of soup with a spoon that I very politely sucked the shit out of.
Years later, when I told my dad what I did, he told me that from the look on my face, he thought I was actually going to spit in his friend’s soda.
Honest word.

6 Movies That Didn’t Realize They Let the Villain Win
Seriously, there are no terrorists flying through windshields; no RPGs going off; no big cathartic explosion to justify the use of the word “bomb” in the movie. All we see is the van kind of tip over, but sustain the abuse like any good, German-made car was built to. But when Marty returns from the past to check on Doc, they have an emotional reunion that completely ignores the fact that there is a dented van full of terrorists right over there.
Hell, even if the van burst into flames and vaporized the gunmen, there’s no way those few guys represented the entirety of their terror cell. This is a group serious enough to sneak into the U.S., obtain military-grade weapons and goddamned weapons-grade plutonium. You know, the stuff that no terrorists and only a few militaries have ever been able to get their hands on. If anything, Back to the Future is a cautionary tale about how disastrously vulnerable small U.S. towns were to terrorism during the Reagan years.

I cant seem to stop stirring up shit. I blame teleskiguy.
I grew up (and still live) close to where the late Hunter S. Thompson had a home. In fact, as the crow flies, it’s only 25 miles from my house to Owl Farm.
That said, I like to stir the shit too. An environmental side effect, we’ll call it. I apologize if the effects of me rubbing off on you results in any ill will toward you.
Oh, here’s the best song about George Armstrong Custer!

But…
This is how I did it.

If they have no, or a marginal maternity leave policy, it’s another way the owners of Hobby Lobby are conserving their own profits at greater cost to society in general. Privatizing profits, socializing costs.

I’m 20 years late to this party. I dimly recall flipping channels years ago and stumbling across Bob Ross, but for one reason or another, it didn’t hold my attention and I ignored it. I had to Google to find out who the guy in the photo was.
Today I watched an entire Bob Ross ep on China’s version of YouTube (youku.com — they have dozens of his shows there). In 20 minutes, he created mountains, clouds, trees, and a lake. Amazing! Now I want to watch the other episodes. Thanks for the nudge!
My grandfather did watercolor landscapes. My painting skill is zero, but maybe I’ll give the Ross technique a whirl. Oil paints are pretty cheap here in China.

re: #340 EPR-radar
My wish list for GOP reform includes at least the following as essentials:
1) No more bigotry. This specifically includes racism, homophobia and misogyny.
2) An end to the anti-science bullshit.
3) An end to the so-con religious bullshit.
4) A foreign policy that is grounded in reality.
5) An end to the continual demagoguery via Fox News and Hate Radio.
6) Honesty about what their economic policies would actually do, as opposed to endless lies about them.
So I guess you won’t be voting for any Republican for the next century or so?
