Donald Trump Leaves His Neo-Nazi Tweet Posted on Twitter, Says Nothing

Ignoring overt racism from the leading GOP candidate
Politics • Views: 79,622

Apparently, Donald Trump is just going to leave his neo-Nazi-sourced tweet about “black crime” with its totally false statistics posted on Twitter, and just ignore the whole thing.

Not a word from Trump today about this; and since our LGF post has been written about in quite a few media sources now, he must know about it. He did find time to tweet an attack on the Associated Press for “dishonest reporting” without a hint of irony:

Will any of the cable news channels call him out for this outrageous behavior? Or is it just expected now that the leading Republican presidential candidate will cite imaginary statistics from neo-Nazi sources to smear black Americans?

I know this won’t damage his support among the right wing base; it’s already been amply demonstrated that his unvarnished racism is a big part of his appeal to them. But the big cable networks have a duty to inform the rest of America exactly how debased and racist Trump’s campaign has gotten.

Donald Trump claims he saw 1000s of New Jersey Muslims celebrating on 9/11, and it was so seared into his memory that he never bothered to mention it at all in this interview with German TV in 2001

ABC this morning did a story about it, and pointed out that the white on white stat is false, and that it should be at 82%. I don’t think they talked about where it came from, though.

The Trump spin doctors are having an easy time of this: just have the discussion fritter out on the details and overlook the fact that their candidate is spreading racist misinformation.

Polling update doot-doot-doo-doot.

Since Dr Carson’s peak, when people started actually listening to what he was saying he has lost 20% of his support in two weeks….I really doubt that he can recover.

The numbers for the top 4 at ‘peak Carson’ and now and the difference between the two are:

Trump 24.6 27.5 +3
Carson 24.8 19.8 -5
Rubio 11 12.5 +1.5
Cruz 8.8 11.3 +2.5

Top 4 total 69.2 71 +2 ish

i.e. Trump and Cruz have gained the most, and Rubio has gained a little less. If Carson’s supporters continue to abandon him, we can expect Trump to continue to grow his lead probably back to his previou peak, if not a little higher. I doubt he’ll reach 40% though as he’s just too repellent to a lot of people. Also, very likely Cruz would move into second position, unless for some reason Rubio can start attracting more ex-Carson supporters to him.

This_is_fine.jpg

Additionally the other candidates have lost ground, even though Carson is plummeting and Jindal has dropped out, i.e. they aren’t attracting any new supporters.

btw, is there any way to do tables in this ‘ere intahwebz site?

If there was anything to the stories about thousands of people celebrating in New Jersey, the Star Ledger (Newark) and the Record (Bergen County) would have been all over it, let alone the reporters from the NY Post.

That all are notably silent as to the thousands of people cheering shows just how baseless the noxious claims were.

Was it possible that some people did cheer? Yes. But extending and exaggerating a handful of people to what would amount to a significant portion of a community? That’s reaching a whole different level of Islamophobia more than 14 years after the attacks - even though Trump himself didn’t notice anything in the days and weeks after 9/11 when he was interviewed.

Per Charles P. Pierce:

Anyway, one thing that dawned on me at the Family Leader Forum the other night is that it is now a capital mistake to believe that conservative extremism is in any way incoherent or divided in the most basic articles of its faith. What once was considered beyond the pale now has set up shop in the town square. What were once backburner reactionary notions are now absolute litmus tests. And I’m not talking about individual issues, like reproductive choice or the bloated military budget, I’m talking about a fundamental philosophy of how the Republic is supposed to function. I didn’t read the article carefully. It said 13 people from NJ were detained and questioned after the 1993 WTC attack.

It mentions 5 names of suspects taken into custody after 9/11 and a bunch of “allegations” about “tailgate” and “rooftop” parties, none of which were shown on TV.

Trump saw these hundreds of 13 cheerers on 9/11 just like Trump foresaw and predicted the 9/11 attacks.

Cue derplanche for pointing out that Trump’s a frickin’ liar/spouting off nonsense about well everything.

So, if every single Muslims doesn’t come out against terrorism, the entire community is indicted? Gotcha.

So, if a handful of Muslims living here and some indeterminate number overseas cheered, that indicted all Muslims? Again, gotcha.

These people don’t play though the consequences of their statements. Nor does Trump for that matter, which is why his support keeps growing.

[…]

We usually think of bravery in terms of individual events — a soldier jumping on a grenade or a black woman refusing to go to the back of the bus. But bravery can happen every day.

An old classmate of mine, Mathieu, lives in a Paris with his wife and kids in a neighborhood that was attacked. The day after, he went to give blood. The week after, he asked people to join him in going back to cafes and theatres. Through it all, he has encouraged tolerance and understanding, knowing that giving into anger would only give the attackers what they want.

We all need to be like Mathieu, but bravery is hard. Will we treat others with respect, even if they share a name with a violent lunatic? Can we ignore those who will prey on our fear for political gain? Will we fight the hysteria that terrorists are trying to instill in us?

The answer needs to be yes. We are Americans. Remember, we are the Home of the Brave.

McCamley, a Democrat, is the state representative for District 33.

I, like many Americans, spent the days after 9/11 glued to the goddam TV all goddam day. I saw the same loops of film over and over and over. There was ONE clip, approximately 10 seconds, identified as Palestinian children in Gaza celebrating. In the shot there were maybe a dozen or so people. Every time I saw that clip, it was clearly identified as happening in the Middle East.

Pretty sure there’s not Gaza, NJ.
