Joey Alexander is from Bali, he’s 12 years old, and his facility on the piano is absolutely mind-blowing. In this video he plays one of the most difficult jazz standards ever written, John Coltrane’s “Giant Steps” (named that because of the wild chord changes) and improvises with sensitivity and grace, and without a single wrong note. Just incredible.

This kid almost makes me believe in reincarnation.

Joey Alexander performs “Giant Steps” in studio, from his debut album “My Favorite Things”!
