Can’t wait for the NY primary for Hillary to win handily, and for Bernie bros to say that the margin was closer than the polls had predicted, so he should stay in til June. Because you know it’s coming. Math is not these people’s strong suit.

The craziest of them (let us be fair, many people support Sanders because they have read his policies and they prefer them to Clinton’s, as is their right), the ones who assert that there is some sort of eeeeevil election-stealing going on, would be well served to logically consider what that would mean about the man they seek to elect.

If the people you would seek to lead in government dislike your candidacy so much that they would cheat democracy to keep you out of power, how effectively do you think you could lead them?

Oh, right, right, the political revolution. Sorry, I plum forgot that all of Congress will be swept away in your first ninety days in office or something.

One of whom helped create the superdelegate thingy.

Ironically, Tad Devine, Sanders’ top adviser, who was instrumental in the creation of the superdelegate process, defended their existance.

“It’s pretty hard to win a nomination in a contested race and almost impossible to win without the superdelegeates,” Devine said in 2008 in an interview on NPR.

If I hear one more time how the superdelegates should go along with how their states voted, I am going to lose it. Superdelegates are NOT allocated by state, so that argument is ridiculous.

As long as they’re doing it in the primaries, and voting for the Democrat in the general, go for it. That’s how you get your candidates to move left.

As a resident of Texas, I can understand targeting other Democrats. If I ran in the district I live in, as red as it is, I’d be happy to come in third in a two person race.

re: #40 HappyWarrior

It’s a triumph of Democracy where Bernie wins 5,000 votes in the Alaska caucuses but if Clinton wins anywhere in the South, we’re supposed to ignore it.

There were more people at one of Bernie’s NY rallies than voted for him in AK, ID, and WA total. (I kid, but not really).

440 people caucused for Sanders in Alaska. That’s far less than some NY precincts (smaller than districts or counties).
~23,000 people voted for Sanders in Hawaii. That’s less than a good number of NY counties. About 20,000 voted for Sanders in Washington. Again, about the same as an upstate county in NY.

In 2008, more than 1 million votes were cast for Hillary in NY (she won NY over Obama in a landslide).

And it wont matter because Hillary will win NY, depriving Bernie of any kind of “momentum” which didn’t actually happen.

While gathering my info for doing my taxes the other day, I noticed how many checks I’d written to our County party and for local/county/state candidates. Add in the time I devote to helping out at events, working on party projects, organizing, etc. and I don’t want to hear about how “disenfranchised” the left-wing of the party feels.

Running your mouth is the easy part (and I admit, I run mine quite a bit) but actually getting out there and doing something is how things get done. You would not believe the amount of effort our party people put into a special election for a county council seat. People worked their asses off—we won it (yay us), but it took an incredible amount of dedication. Particularly in a blood red state and a blood red county, those are the kind of fights you have to start with.

I was also an early fan, starting with “Roger and Me.” But, even in his movies that I liked, I always felt he went one step too far to try to prove his point—adding in crap like chasing down Heston in “Bowling for Columbine”—totally unnecessary. He does something like that every time, and it seems like it’s just to feed his own ego. Comes across as extremely smug.

I started to dislike him when he endorsed Clark in 2004. All this talk about how Bill Clinton was the “best Republican president we ever had” and he goes out and endorses someone with no ties to the Democratic party and elected experience simply because he thought Clark’s presence would make the Democrats unable to dodge attacks on national security which was ridiculous as we later saw with Kerry who was just as decorated as Clark.
