Trump Says “There’s Nothing Out There” About Hillary’s Religion. He’s Lying Again.
Yesterday lots of pundits were saying Donald Trump’s firing of campaign manager Corey Lewandowski presaged a change in tone, a “pivot” if you will, to a more even-handed and less inflammatory, conspiratorial campaign style for the erstwhile billionaire.
Yeah, right. Today in New York, Trump addressed a group of far right social conservative evangelicals and told them “we don’t know anything about Hillary in terms of religion.”
Trump is trying to “pivot,” all right — from his Muslim conspiracies about President Obama to some unnamed secret conspiracy about Hillary Clinton’s religion.
Speaking to a group of top social conservative evangelical Christian leaders at a gathering in New York City, Trump said, “we don’t know anything about Hillary in terms of religion.”
“Now, she’s been in the public eye for years and years, and yet there’s no — there’s nothing out there,” Trump said. “There’s like nothing out there. It’s going to be an extension of Obama but it’s going to be worse, because with Obama you had your guard up. With Hillary you don’t, and it’s going to be worse.”

So is it true “there’s nothing out there” about Hillary’s religion? It’s a total mystery, probably hiding something sinister?
Well, yeah, if you consider being a Methodist sinister. Here are just a few recent articles about her religious beliefs:

Yep. “Nothing out there.” Unless you happen to check TIME Magazine, the New York Times, the Washington Post, CNN, etc. etc. etc.
And by the way, E.W. Jackson, the religious right activist who tweeted the video above, isn’t just a random social conservative evangelist; he’s a raving loon who thinks Black Lives Matter is demonic and thinks gays are inspired by Satan to destroy America. Check out Right Wing Watch’s index of articles on this crazy person for much more. These are the people to whom Donald Trump is peddling his conspiracy theories.
At least one evangelical leader is not impressed with the Trumpenstein.
