So today, the official Twitter account of the Riverside County Republican Party tweeted a picture of a hangman with an axe and blood-stained clothing, and the caption “I’m Ready for Hillary.”

The Riverside County Republican Party tweeted out a picture of a shrouded hangman holding a noose, with a caption below saying, “I’m Ready for Hillary.”

According to the Riverside Press-Enterprise, the tweet was sent out by the county party’s official Twitter account at 2 p.m. Wednesday. The tweet has since been removed.

Riverside County GOP Chairman Scott Mann said he was “horrified” by the tweet, and promised to take action against the person responsible.

Well, the GOP chairman now says he was horrified by the tweet. Earlier today, before it got much attention, he was singing a very different tune.

According to the Press-Enterprise, Mann’s response earlier in the day was much different. The paper reported that in an email he stated: “That meme is nothing more than political satire. It simply expresses how Ms. Clinton seemingly has gotten away with every scandal and political flip-flop in her public life — from classified email and Benghazi to her changing positions on healthcare, TPP, NAFTA, gay marriage, etc.”

The deranged person who tweeted this dangerously insane image has now lost his job.

According to a Board of Equalization employee, a local Republican official who sits on the Riverside Community College District Board of Trustees has lost his state job in connection with a tweet from the Riverside County GOP that featured a menacing hangman and the words “I’m Ready for Hillary.”

Nathan Miller offered his resignation and admitted sending the tweet, said Russell Lowery, chief deputy to Board of Equalization member Diane Harkey. Miller had worked as an advisor to Harkey for about nine months, Lowery said.
