One summer I had a job repairing bulk bins and pallets at the fruit processing factory where Dad worked. We’d evaluate each one, figure out what it needed, and replace the boards or runners as needed. Sometimes, when you got into it, you found it needed more than you’d thought. Every so often, the boss would have to remind us not to build a whole new pallet around one good runner.

I assume they are adding 10,000 new agents and giving local law enforcement immigration law authority to do something, right?

I doubt McMaster will encounter any problems getting confirmed. I would be surprised if it wasn’t unanimous.

Considering that one possible alternative is John “bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb Iran” Bolton.

If I can find a ‘66 E-Jag for $500, I’m going to buy it. If I can’t, I won’t.

Hell, at that price, buy two - one for you, one for me. I will gladly pay you Tuesday.

Ugh. Looks like we might have to eat crow. There is breaking news of CCTV footage (facebook link) of the terrorist attack in Sweden. It’s safe for work, but I’ll just keep in private for now….

Yeah. And here’s some raw footage of that horrible incident in Tokyo. Sad.

re: #103 Blind Frog Belly White

If you do, it’ll likely be like the Morgan Peter Egan wrote about in Road & Track a few years back. The guy was asking $4500. Every single part of it needed replacement, but the owner kept saying, “Yeah, you can get that from this or that supplier.”

At the end, the owner asked ‘Well, what do you think?’

Egan said, “Everything needs replacing, except the steering wheel. It’s a NICE steering wheel, but it’s not a $4500 steering wheel.”

The $4,500 was for the original title and name plates, etc. Then when he rebuilds a totally new old Morgan from new replacement parts he can say it has all the ID and history.

I’ve heard some pretty good stories about the vintage car market.

re: #114 Targetpractice

He’s lost his job, he’s lost his book deal, and he’s lost his ticket to greater fame. His speaking gigs were his biggest money maker after selling other people’s work as his own at Andrew Breitbart’s Mausoleum for the Chronically Unemployable. But those gigs are going to dry up now that his support of pedophilia has become public. Just where does he go from here, now that his own words have rendered him radioactive?

He’ll come out and say it was all a put-on like Andy Kaufman. His own Sacha Baron Cohen-like Ali-G character and now that it has been taken to it’s last performance he will be doing new works.

Would not surprise…

Every so often I watch “Graveyard Carz’ on Velocity, because I’m a big Mopar fan. They take Muscle Cars that often are literally junk, and carefully rebuild them as close to original as possible, but with a whole lot more care than they probably were build originally. Some are so far gone that there’s hardly anything more than a VIN plate from the original!

Uh, you (and HRW) do know that Daech is a sunni organisation, right?

Not that I’m doubting that that rape people, but claiming they specifically rape sunni people is a bit odd.

Electrotek is Muslim, so he knows. It’s part of HRW’s job to know such things

Not really, IMO. It’s simply emphasizing the fact that their brutality isn’t partisan—they will rape & kill their own Sunni women just as willingly as they will Shia, Yezidi, or Christian women. The third paragraph in the article makes that pretty clear by mentioning that attacks on Sunni women get overlooked:

HRW and others have extensively documented similar abuses by Daesh fighters against Yezidi women, but the plight of Sunni Arab women under Daesh receives little attention from the global press and politicians alike.
