So redditors are talking about the shitshow that’s going to happen at Atlanta’s airport in a few weeks. The Super Bowl is in Atlanta. The usual way it works for big events is extra TSA agents are flown in. But that’s not going to happen. How about the TSA agents fly in on their own dime and pay for their own hotel rooms (SB inflated rates) and work for free.

Yeah, that’s a big nope.

This shit is going to get very very ugly.

I have found that if you have a good quality patty and a tasty, slightly toasted bun you can put together a great burger just about anytime you want to.

Even if the toppings are top quality a substandard patty or bun will ruin it for me.

ObserverArt  Jan 14, 2019 • 6:35:39pm

Rachel Maddow gave a nice history lesson on Willam Saxbe’s nomination for Attorney General confirmation hearing back in January 1974.

That all happened right in the midst of Watergate and after Nixon was pressuring Elliot Richardson, then the AG, to fire Special Prosecutor Leon Jaworski. Richardson quit instead of firing and that lead to Saxbe’s nomination.

Saxbe was grilled a lot on allowing Jaworski to be unimpeded and completely independent of the Attorney General’s office and Justice in his investigations.

She is suggesting it be a guide to follow Robert Byrd’s questioning Saxbe in the Senate with Jaworski in attendance too.

Good stuff. Hopefully the Democratic senators in the hearing on the William Barr nomination for AG studied the tactics and will be equally as hard in making sure Mueller is left alone.

But their burgers are DIVINE. And they do low carb so my life is complete. To bad the closest one is like 30 miles away but we get down there sometimes and it’s always a stop now.

Lucky you. The nearest Five Guys to us is 130 miles away.

That said, whenever we’re in Cheyenne we go.

The first time we went there, my wife was wearing a giant red polka dot dress. One of the clerks noted she sort of stood out against the wall something like “Predator” in that there was a slight difference between her polka dots and the red and white square tiles of their walls.

Joe Bacon 🌹  Jan 14, 2019 • 7:52:15pm

I have three words to the clown (Steven Miller or Slick Mick) who said these words…

GO INTERCOURSE YOURSELF!

An unnamed “senior official in the Trump administration” wrote in an anonymous Daily Caller op-ed Monday that the record-breaking 24-day partial government shutdown “is an opportunity to strip wasteful government agencies for good.”

While it’s unclear how “senior” this administration official is — many senior Trump officials are still being paid, while the author claims to be “one of the senior officials working without a paycheck” — the op-ed could offer a window into another goal of this shutdown, in addition to using federal workers’ paychecks as leverage in an attempt to extract border wall funds from Congress: starving the government.

The op-ed’s author wrote that “many federal agencies are now operating more effectively from the top down on a fraction of their workforce” and that “we do not want most employees to return, because we are working better without them.”

Roughly 800,000 federal employees are currently going without pay, and millions of Americans who rely on the agencies those employees usually run — everything from the Food and Drug Administration to the Department of the Interior to the Department of Homeland Security — are going without services, except for those provided by workers deemed essential to national security or public safety.

“Now that we are shut down, not only are we identifying and eliminating much of the sabotage and waste, but we are finally working on the president’s agenda,” the official wrote, adding in conclusion: “Wasteful government agencies are fighting for relevance but they will lose. Now is the time to deliver historic change by cutting them down forever.”

The Daily Caller said the author’s “career would be jeopardized” if their name were to be made public. “We believe publishing this essay anonymously is the only way to deliver an important perspective to our readers,” the publication added.

Trump doesn’t give two shits about First Nations people. They didn’t vote for him. So he could care less.

It was moreso a response to Thune and Rounds’ rather hollow criticism. Like Trump is going to listen to their statements of concern or anything else will take place.

I’m sure Erik Prince can arrange for Russian contractors to fill in.

A TSA strike would be illegal. It would be the air traffic controllers all over again

That’s what Republicans want so they can fire them and go back to the previous system with private contractors.

Of course the fools at the New York Times conceal how President Pruneface killed PATCO!

And before it’s “just heritage”, Kentucky was a Union state and the birthplace of Lincoln.

Well, it was the birthplace of Jefferson Davis too, and had delegations in both Congresses. The CSA never had effective military control of (all of) it.

We have a Subway as our only chain restaurant, as well. Things that make you go hmm. Ours, at least, has been there for the last 9 years at least.

I rode the Riva Bahn chair in Vail with Olympic Gold Medalist Tommy Moe at least a half dozen times one day, we were training together, giant slalom, when I was a teenager.

If they actually did strike and all get canned, good fucking luck finding replacement screeners that want to work for free.

Sure. And that would be followed with a “report to work in 48 hours or you’re fired”… and the national guard being used as replacement workers

Giant slalom was my strongest event when I was a ski racer in my teens, my coach (who grew up in Chamonix, FR) loved the fact that I could *angle* the skis. “ANGULATION! ANGULATION!” He hammered that into my head.

Then I smoked pot for the first time - ON VAIL MOUNTAIN, ON MY SKIS - and took up snowboarding and then quit racing a year later. Now I’m a dirtbag telemark skier. I digress.

The *angulation* in Giant Slalom ski races today is pretty insane.

There’s more to do now. Bowling alley, movie theater, restaurants, a brew pub…

Mountain biking in the summer is poppin’. I’ve ridden my bike around here for a long time and lately I’ve been seeing more and more people, it gets a little bigger every summer. The recreational-minded cyclists have noticed in the last few years, Eagle has *world class mountain biking.*

Tomorrow morning I’m heading to JFK and flying west to beautiful Los Angeles for a few days of rest, relaxation, photos and guitars. I’ll be capping off the week with a tour of the SpaceX facility, arranged by an old friend who now works for that Musk dude. Will check in when I’m on the ground.

In some towns, yeah. And meth and opiates. And let’s not forget that the Rocky Mountains are known in psychology circles in the United States as “the suicide belt.” Two people I knew for decades killed themselves last year. I’ve struggled with such things, as some of you know.

Paradise. Big mountains and big skies. And it’s very hard sometimes, takes a lot out of you. Little things, like snow removal and the constant thought that “I’ve been in the red financially forever.”

Skiing is my passion, I consider it a blessing and a curse. But more of a blessing.

Ah the Chemical Brothers. Probably my favorite band to see live. I remember back in ‘97 when I saw them with The Orb. That tour was called Deep Rave ‘97. I had just been getting into electronica and since that show in Chicago, I was hooked. One of my top 3 concerts ever.

Here’s another vid worth watching:

Good expression of how far Christianity has fallen from it’s ideals. They should be outraged at themselves though, not at the artwork that merely holds up a mirror to reality.

It’s Tucker Carlson’s shithole of a website, so I’d take any anonymous op-ed from there with a grain of salt.

If real, I don’t know how it helps their cause beyond the shrinking base.

It’s a stupid statement. Top down management still require worker bees. What he is describing is dump’s wet dream of a dictatorship/monarchy. One person making all the descision with no proof of work done.
