You snark, but I’m guessing that this attitude is going to be precisely the “strategy” the WH/Admin/Orange Anus is going to use as a “defense” once the impeachment resolution goes to the Senate*.

Something along the lines of “this is a political, not a legal proceeding, so whatever political pressure we can use to deflect these [hysterical witch-hunt/Deep-State coup/illegal persecution] charges is a legitimate course of action”. And never mind the overheated bloviations about “process”…

A foregone conclusion. You have to be seriously messed up in the head to even think about filing a lawsuit that’s so obviously frivolous.

Which is stupid, because if Trump is unfit for office because of ‘high crimes and misdemeanors’ he’s committed, then not only should he not get a SECOND term, he shouldn’t complete the FIRST. i agree and i think she should have unresigned when the story came out:

We live in a townhouse complex, so families drive in to trick or treat. Our puppy isn’t happy and we’re trying to keep her calm after the heart worm diagnosis (we turned down the lights and put the treats out on the porch). It’s a shame because I love seeing the kids’ costumes.

Conservative Columnist Urges the GOP to Abandon the Rule of Law
by Nancy LeTourneau

Mollie Hemingway (how dare she have the same name as our Molly Ivins??) writes in The Federalist, and she got LeTourneau mad enough to write about what will happen if DT loses in 2020 and refuses to concede.

Hemingway just set the stage for Republicans to claim that the 2020 election was stolen if Trump loses, all without providing a shred of evidence. Her remedy is to abandon the rule of law and engage mobs in an effort to intimidate their opponents. To the extent that the Federalist is representative of “establishment Republicans,” it is impossible to capture the danger of what is being proposed.

During Trump’s presidency we’ve seen a lot of references to a “constitutional crisis.” But nothing we’ve witnessed so far compares to what Hemingway is suggesting. The true test of whether Majority Leader McConnell and his Republican colleagues in congress are able to put country over party will come if Trump and his supporters take her advice. Our democratic republic will be on the line, with no one but them to save it.
