Video: Kim Jong Un Says North Korea No Longer Bound by Nuclear Test Moratorium

World • Views: 34,938

YouTube

This is one of our impeached president’s biggest, stupidest foreign policy failures. North Korea has repeatedly, for decades, reneged on every deal they’ve made with the US, while inching closer to a truly threatening nuclear capability. Trump, in his narcissistic way, thought he could con this murderous dictator — but he’s the one who got suckered.

And Trump still says, “I think Kim Jong Un is a man of his word.”

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un said the country no longer feels bound by its self-imposed suspension on nuclear weapons and long-range ballistic missile tests. Isaac Stone Fish, a CBSN contributor and senior fellow at the Asia Society’s Center on U.S.-China Relations, joined CBSN to discuss the announcement.

By the way, the scene in the video above where Kim Jong Un is applauded in robotic unison by an audience of North Korean officials is seriously unnerving.

If we die in a nuclear holocaust, it’s going to be the fault of misogynists, racists, and white socialists who just couldn’t bring themselves to vote for Hillary.

Easily. I’ve never felt that Trump at all is a representative let alone a believer of democracy and freedom of political thought. I think he seriously is in awe of how men like Kim, Putin, Erdogan, & others are received and then he sees how he is when he’s not able to dominate the narrative.

He craves respect, attention, and power. He sees that men like those get as much of those three things as they could possibly desire. Inasmuch as he wanted to be President, it was because he thought he could get those things.

But he has a beautiful vase to send.

Just was stepping out of Perkins with my wife after a late breakfast hour or so ago and BLAM!
Car runs into another car in the intersection on Rt US 11-15. Small KIA with a motorized wheelchair on the back. Didn’t see it only heard it. Ran out and it’s an older woman with Tennessee plates (disabled icon). Asked if she was injured as I dialed 911. Said she hit her chest hard. Airbag did not employ, nor seat belt engage. I asked her disability as I spoke to dispatch, has leg issues, told the dispatcher. Light traffic, a few guys standing there. Other driver standing in the back, just looking. I just engaged with her as I spoke with dispatch. No blood, small debris. I suggested she talk to someone about the airbag and seat belt failure. Ambulance came, and as they engaged I wished her luck as she thanked me, I told her she would do the same.
She’s going to be hurting tonight.
I had another vehicle almost rip my small Mazda in half 20 some years ago on that “Strip”.
Ran a red. Still don’t know where she came from.
Count my blessings.

Mr. McConnell has told colleagues and the White House that he does not want witnesses called, seeing it as an opening for uncertainty during the trial. Mr. Trump, in private discussions, has told advisers that he understands Mr. McConnell’s argument, but at times he has said that he wants witnesses. Source

House and Senate Dems need to keep up the pressure until Trump is demanding that witnesses testify. There needs to be a scorched earth campaign that ends in Trump on his knees begging to testify about his perfect call (although history suggests that Trump will cut and run before that happens).

Let me just say that I think psychologists are going to have to a field day trying to understand Trump. He’s Schrodinger’s Nixon. He’s so like Nixon in so many ways but he’s so not in so many ways too and the ways he isn’t are the most worrying.

Sorely tempted to jump in the car and head for Detroit. Passing up a sticky bun is almost criminal.

Seriously. Everyone knows how to play Trump and his fragile ego. Trump is so desperate to get attention away from his crimes that he is willing to throw our national security under the bus to do it.

He’s already done it with consorting with the Russians and Ukranians to get dirt on his political rivals. He will do it again. He ignores the intel community, the defense establishment, and anyone who has knowledge and competency. He listens only to those telling him what he wants to hear.

Of course real “libs” will just ignore (or mock) Junior’s imbecilic tweets, but it’s far more likely that his real audience is on the Right, not the Left: his shtick has always struck me as being the sort of smirking, frat-boy strutting designed to impress his bros with how bad-ass he is, while carefully avoiding any actual interactions with anybody who might actually punch back (figuratively or literally).

When you take flag duties for your town seriously, it follows you around everywhere you go.

I was out for a smoke break in front of my hotel, and the one next door has its flag’s corner looped over the top of the staff and snagged there. The wind is high, so the flag looks like a sail.

Those huge flags cost thousands of dollars (size matters in patriotism, even more than sex), so I went over to the hotel to inform them of the problem.

They’re getting someone out now to unsnag their flag.

I’m not expecting a reward for saving you money, Hampton Inn, but if you feel the need to throw some money my way as a thank you, I won’t refuse it. /s

That stretch I know from going to western NY from Philly via I-80 and then going north from Williamsport up 15 to get to Corning. Was interesting to watch it convert into a better highway over the past decade or so.

If you drove from I-80 north to Buffalo on US 15 in the 70’s you went through hell. Rochester wasn’t much better. Now it’s a 4 lane 85 MPH walk in the park north of Williamsport.

Last night Mrs. FBW had me make the olive salad that goes on muffuletta sandwiches, for an appetizer at the dinner we had with friends down the street. Mrs. FBW loves the olive salad, but not so much the rest of the sandwich.

But, since the recipe I have makes a LOT of the olive salad, The Older Boy and I headed to the store for some Genoa, Mortadella, Coppa, Provolone, Mozzarella and some Ciabatta rolls, and made SAMMICHES!!!

Turns out The Younger Boy doesn’t like olives, and Mrs. FBW doesn’t much like salumi, so The Older Boy and I had the sammiches all to ourselves!

Muffuletta always makes me feel connected to Dad. He brought home one from the Acme Grocery, from a business trip to N’Awlins. It smelled wonderful!!! I had to head back up to Ithaca, where I was living, so I asked, “So, when are we gonna eat that sandwich?”

He looked at me with eyebrows raised and said, “WE?!?”

The bastard didn’t eat it till I left!

Of course he shared it with Mom, who told me it was excellent! So, Muffuletta always makes me think of Dad and the sandwich I got none of.

For all the wingnut complaints about people “speaking English” - they have a first lady who has never spent time to properly learn the language.

One of the reasons Princess Mary became so popular in Denmark was because she learned the language & for an english speaker that was no easy task. Melania, like her husband, has no interest in learning anything.

My mother decided that she will give most of my step-father’s musical instruments to the Old Town School of Folk Music. My step-father worked with them for many years. He bought or built dozens of instruments from banjos to fiddles to bazukis to bagpipes (and could play them all).

The only instruments not going to the school are his electronic practice chatter (after I repaired it, it had an electrical problem) which went to my sister, and an Appalachian dulcimer (which went to my wife).

Note how Qbots are now coming out of the woodwork led by Ted Nugent.

BTW—Here’s another Utah Outcasts clip where we go after Asshole Mark Taylor who now is a full blown Qbot!

My wife and I need a better camera and microphone before we appear on the show again.

Now now, I’m not a big fan of the beans, but the rest of the fry-up is all right. And a good english roast beef with yorkshire pudding on the side is delish too. Their food got mangled by the deprivations of two world wars rationing but if you dig down a bit, there’s more to it than reputation would suggest.

re: #95 Mescalero09

If you drove from I-80 north to Buffalo on US 15 in the 70’s you went through hell. Rochester wasn’t much better. Now it’s a 4 lane 85 MPH walk in the park north of Williamsport.
Old Steam Valley decline. Now imagine snow and ice and fog and OMFG A HERD OF DEER.

if the weather was bad in the Southern/Northern Tier area I tended to avoid I-80 and take I-81 up to Binghamton and come west on I-86/NY-17. Much flatter and I trusted NYS’ snow removal more than PA’s. Though coming over Clarke’s Summit in a snow storm could be a major bitch anyways.

A mockingbird that hung out where I worked In Pittsburgh near I-376 had a very good imitation of an ambulance siren.
