IT’S GOHMERT! Louie Says Capitol Police Told Him They Expected Trump Haters Disguised in MAGA Gear at the January 6 Insurrection

Politics • Views: 15,019

Since Trump grudgingly lumbered out of the White House, Republicans have been working hard to maintain the level of malevolent lunacy set by their Dear Leader. It’s not easy, because say what you want about Trump, and I do, the man was highly motivated.

But faithful Louie Gohmert of the unforgettable “terror babies” scandal, the Asparagus King of Nacogdoches, is stepping up to show he can handle the job. But can he? Can you, Louie? Can you, really?

Then let’s get them under oath in front of a bipartisan committee to get to the bottom of this. Frankly if any of these Republicans really believed this bullshit about Antifa infiltrators, and had a speck of evidence, no matter how circumstantial, they’d be dying to get it in front of cameras. It’s all lies, plain and simple.

Let them vote it down. Then shrug, tell the voters you tried bipartisanship, and use reconciliation to pass the real bill.

San Diego county is at 61.2% of 12+ fully vaccinated.
However, we’re at 74.6% with at least one dose… which means a whole lot of people (probably young) are going to get their second dose over the next week.

27
teleskiguy  Jun 10, 2021 • 5:24:59pm

Colorado is at 54% of the population with at least one dose, with 47.4% fully vaccinated.

70% of the state’s population with at least one dose by 4 July? Eh, maybe.

Listening to some Yonder Mountain String Band from the Sheridan Opera House in Telluride back in ‘08. Jeff Austin was a bubbly presence, he is missed.

First time I ever saw him play music was at my first Umphrey’s McGee show back in 2005, he sat in on mandolin and they played a cover of Asleep At The Wheel’s “Let Me Go Home Whiskey.”

That is pretty bad. In New Mexico, we have something called “goatheads,” a kind of seed pod with three sharp spines weighted in such a way that no matter which way it lands, a spine is sticking up to spear you in the foot.

They love to stick to the treads of your sneakers, then get stuck in the carpet, and then you step on them in your stockinged (or even bare) feet, and then you scream.

That really is going to be an interesting sell to Dem voters next year: “Yeah, we started at a $2.2T price tag on a stand-alone bill, all of which would have been new spending and would have been financed by finally making the rich pay more in taxes. BUT we couldn’t get that over the finishing line because ya’ll didn’t vote hard enough last election, so we let the Repubs talk us down to just under $600B in new spending that was ‘targeted’ to just the spending they wanted. But hey, it’s something…right?”

We probably won’t even get that far. The story itself is that there is no bill, just an “agreement in principle,” i.e. 5 Dems and 5 Repubs have agreed on the numbers they’re cool with and now have weeks of sausage-making ahead of them. And then begins the process of trying to sell another 5 Repubs and the other 45 Dems on the final product.

re: #36 A Three Hour Tour

That is pretty bad. In New Mexico, we have something called “goatheads,” a kind of seed pod with three sharp spines weighted in such a way that no matter which way it lands, a spine is sticking up to spear you in the foot.

They love to stick to the treads of your sneakers, then get stuck in the carpet, and then you step on them in your stockinged (or even bare) feet, and then you scream.

Encountered those on a walk with my niece in the neighborhood of one of the B&Bs. Got *into* my sandals when I brushed against one.

By the way, the thing that will likely have Dem voters coughing up blood about whatever “deal” comes out of this supposed “agreement in principle” is not the spending or what of it is “new,” it’s the methods by which they will propose to pay for the whole thing.

Why? Because the Senate Repub “moderates” involved are on-record as either opposing new taxes on the wealthy or raising the existing taxes. So if you think talking the spending down to 1/4 of what was originally proposed is bad, wait until you hear that it’s all gonna be paid by raising “consumption” taxes or imposing new ones.

re: #26 Love-Child of Cassandra and Sisyphus

San Diego county is at 61.2% of 12+ fully vaccinated.
However, we’re at 74.6% with at least one dose… which means a whole lot of people (probably young) are going to get their second dose over the next week.

I was at the Sidney hospital yesterday for occupational therapy (that’s a long story by itself).

In Cheyenne County, that hospital is the distribution point for vaccines.

Previously, the state required sign-ups on a Website most people in the Panhandle have no access to because no Internet. The state last week opened up Panhandle distribution points to walk-ins for anyone eligible to receive the vaccine (age 12+).

There was a huge crowd at the vaccine clinic (I walk by it every time I see occupational therapy). Previously it was either closed or only had a few people.

The same is happening in my county; the community hospital is running a vaccine clinic in a closed Jack & Jill store on Main Street. With opening up of the vaccine for everyone, the Bridgeport clinic is also swamped with people getting the vaccine.

Additionally, proper refrigerated storage for the Pfizer vaccine has been built here, so the Pfizer vaccine is also being distributed.

The Johnson & Johnson vaccine seems to be the most popular in my county (one shot versus two and long distances to travel to get it). My guess is because of the overwhelming lack of access to the Internet, no one around here is getting exposed to the fear-mongering surrounding the eight blood clots associated with millions of doses of Johnson & Johnson already given.

They have goat head weeds along dirt sideroads here in Southern California that go right through bike tires— even with Mr Tuffy inserts. One went through my shoe as I walked home from a dual tire instant flattening. Fun times
