Wife and TurboTax whiffed our tax return. Instead of getting an unusual refund, we owe them a hundred bucks. And a mandatory $0.21 interest charge.

It would be good to see it get derailed but I don’t see that happening. Germany may fine him for allowing Nazi propaganda on the platform, but they won’t impede the change of ownership.

I’m hoping he hemhorrages talent. We’ve had a bit of attrition where I work and could use some good developers. Zuck could be looking to get some intellectual capitol and spin up his own tweet style product…lots of other ways this could go sideways for Musk. One big class action lawsuit and he’s going public to raise funds to pay it off.

I’m sure the SEC is going to have some very serious concerns about this deal that they are going to look into. Musk hasn’t exactly earned their trust. In fact, they aren’t to happy with him now over some of his more shady stunts.

Powerball jackpot is creeping up to real money again.

The annuity interest rate did not jump again, but it is currently at its highest level in a while. Interest rates were so low all during the pandemic that I think many people got used to low cost money. That is changing.

Both Zuckerberg and Bezos have the resources and technical staff to create an alternative to Twitter. Zuckerberg already has over ten times as many users as Twitter but that might be considered anti-competitive. And he has a flawed but functioning moderation system.

Pure party propaganda.

We all knew Sean Hannity was doing the bidding of the Trump administration. We found out Monday he was doing it literally.

CNN on Monday published a slew of text messages between Trump Chief of Staff Mark Meadows and prominent Republican lawmakers and conservative figures — including Hannity. The Jan. 6 committee has already released several texts exchanged between Meadows and Hannity, but the ones released Monday are particularly striking, demonstrating just how firmly the White House had Hannity secured under its thumb.

I’m taking notes for my lame family. They will leave it all up to me.

Devin Nunes’ Cow may object. Indeed, anonymity may be essential for whistleblowers. And with the harm that can come if others take offense to your posts and want to track you down, you may hold your tongue rather than expressing your views.

The RW racists are all salivating over this acquisition. My braindead Trumpster FB friend was ecstatic. Musk could surprise us all and operate this in good faith — but I wouldn’t bet 2 cents on that. Other large organizations have imploded and vanished. If Musk transforms Twitter into a libertarian haven with no holds barred conversation, and bullying, racism, misogyny, homophobia, lies, and RW propaganda galore, may it quickly suffer the same fate.

Someone just has to design it, get funding to get it started, get advertising revenue, get it announced, make it easy to copy stuff from Twitter, and, during the transition, post to both sites.
