Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office deputy crashes patrol car into tree in Surprise
A Deputy with Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office and a passenger were involved in a crash that almost hit a home on Tuesday night.
The deputy and civilian observer were headed to a call around 11:30 p.m. when their patrol car struck a tree and swerved in to a residential yard, said Sgt. Jesse Spurgin a spokesman for the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office.
The car came very close to hitting the home near 115th Avenue and Union Hills Drive in Surprise, he said.
The deputy and passenger were transported to John C. Lincoln hospital with “bumps and bruises,” Spurgin said.
Both have been released, he said.
