Now the writer of the article is assuming Fox News has some integrity. And well, most people assume other people are decent people like themselves. That’s a bad assumption to make, especially with the people of Fox News. They don’t care that Glenn Beck is saying these things; all that matters to the big wigs at the network is ratings.

Rupert Murdoch and his tabloid style takeover of the media has really fucked things up. Yeah, that’s a simplistic way of viewing it, but it’s true. We let it happen.

if he has any self-respect, he should resign

Aye, there’s the rub.

If salon is referring to the show with Dr. Martin Luther King’s niece, I think they may have misinterpreted what Beck said. He reaffirmed the Christian doctrine that Jesus had power over His own life and death; not the Jews nor the Romans could kill Him, but He willingly gave His life for us. The black liberation theology that he was referring to throughout the show claimed that Jesus was a victim of white (Jew) oppressors, so white people had to atone as a group by redistribution of wealth to people of color until we all (as Al Sharpton says) live in the same types of houses.

For anyone who saw the show, what spudman says was clear.

Even the out of context quote (that everyone seems to want to hang Beck with) is: “If he was a victim” (and Beck is clear that he does not think he was) “and this theology was true” (which Beck is very clear he does NOT think it is) then…..

In fact Beck was really clear that NO ONE killed Christ. He says it loud and often. He works very hard to convince the audience of this.

To accuse him of saying the Jews killed Christ, is really a bunch of made up shit…

From my understanding of theology, anyone can fall prey to the sins that lead the Romans to crucify Jesus. But no group of people is to be singled out for blame. Black Liberation Theology clearly was something Barack Obama had long=term exposure to. The extent to which it informs his actions is unknown, and I refuse to make any judgments or inferences on the matter without evidence.

What is it that ‘the Jews did’, Buck?

As a life-long member of the LDS (Mormon) Church, Glenn Beck has appalled me from day one and continues to do so now.

Glenn Beck is so stupid, and so amoral about what he is willing to say for money, that he literally makes my blood boil.

If indeed Jesus of Nazareth is the Christ, god in the flesh, sent to earth to die for the sins of mankind, it makes absolutely no sense to find “blame” for this action. Does it matter if it was “the Jews” or “the Romans” or “Judas” who is to “blame”?

To try to stir up hatred against modern day Jews because of what the Sanhedrin may or may not have done thousands of years ago. To stir up hatred against Romans for the acts of Pilate or the soldiers is equally stupid.

If Glenn Beck had any soul or commitment to this Jesus he claims to admire, I would highly recommend he stop chasing filthy lucre and devote his time to actually learning a thing or two about emulating the Christ he claims to love, rather than defiling himself with words from his mouth.

I’m not try to spark a religious war over Mormonism vs Christianity, etc. I just want to add my two cents as a person who deeply, deeply loathes Glenn Beck and what he is doing to destroy any public perception of the rationality of LDS or Christian people who have actually given years of their time and talents in an attempt to walk the walk about Jesus, not just do the talk.

What YOU say, is exactly what Beck was saying. IF you had seen the show… he was accusing others of stirring up hatred…

Please don’t compare me to Glenn Beck. It makes me ill.

Glenn Beck SHOULD resign and do some actual good in this world, feeding the hungry, helping the sick and the destitute, rather than hoarding millions on selling fear-mongering to credulous fools. I am convinced that he will never do any such thing because he chooses to serve mammon, all the while wrapping himself in the flag of the “true” patriot, but whose only true loyalty is to money and his constant self-promotion.

If Glenn Becks true love were to be a uniter and a messenger of peace, he would not say what he says and he would not do what he does. He is in the right-wing fear industry, and when a Democrat is in power, especially a non-white, that is a very profitable industry. He is a shameless opportunist, a fraud and a liar in my book.

Also, Glenn Beck has no business accusing others of stirring up hatred.

The man needs to talk a long hard look in the mirror and see the gigantic beam in his own eye. Glenn Beck IS a hate-monger.

Much the same way Rush supposedly points out other people’s racism by saying racist things himself. The bit about “The Jews” is not, in fact, part of any established stream of Liberation theology. He could have easily made his point without it. Do you REALLY think I am asking too much of Beck by kindly requesting he leave my people out of his bizarre axe grinding?

Yes, I have stopped beating my wife.

Your use of quotes seems to infer that I said the Jews did something.

And you can accuse others of stirring up hatred? And by slandering Beck what are you doing?

Again… he was very clearly NOT saying what he is being accused of…. Now you might think he got his accusation wrong, but he did spend a good amount of time proving otherwise. He did get experts to explain it to the audience…

You didn’t watch the show…. I really don’t think you have a right to say what was done on it…

There’s a fine line between slander and calling him out on his bullshit.

Really? You are so sure about that? It looks like Wright might disagree with you.

You can ask what ever you want…. however when a group is acting REALLY antisemetic, and someone calls them on it…. I applaud that person, not twist their words as if they were saying the antisemitic statement.

This quote is really out of context. He is talking about what THEY are saying…. not what he believes… Very clearly…. if you had watched the whole show… He was attacking the anti semites

I would like “My people” to help anyone who is exposing the antisemitic Rev Wright, the Minister Farrakhan, Rev. Al and Jackson….That is the racism I have seen for years. That is the racism I am focused on.

But you concentrate on the tea party…. No problem.
