allow us as individuals to exercise our own God-given rights to make our own decisions and then our country gets back on the right track

That dolt can't get from the car to the curb without invoking God in some pointed, insincere, beat a dead horse kind of way. And if that isn't bullshitty enough, then she usually piles on some kid of defective reasoning i.e. it should be left up to those all-knowing parents of fat kids to control their kids' diets, since they - the parents with fat kids - know what's best to keep their children from becoming fat... more fat, or retroactively un-fat, then fat again. Holy shit, my head hurts.

and then our country gets back on the right track

Yeah, because as soon as we abandon that push for healthy kids, our country will be right as rain. Yeah, just like hand-in-glove, Caribou Barbie.

Only an idiot can arrange sentences in such a contradictory way, and behave as though they're illustrating an intelligent solution to the layman. And only a grifter like Sarah is shameless enough to spout this sort of crap several times a week with a straight face.

I have free range chickens with a more evolved thought process.

I hope, SO BADLY, that you win the Republican nomination for President. You won't make it two weeks into the campaign before you quit over the negative reaction. OH I can't wait!

That's what I said about GW Bush vs. McCain.

I wonder if Sarah would have made the same argument about Nancy Reagan's "Just Say No To Drugs" campaign. Why do we need to the government to tell us what substances we can and cannot put in our bodies?

The only difference I see is that in Obama's case it's just a suggestion which you free to ignore. With the War on Drugs, the government will put you in jail if you disobey their lifestyle advice.

Unfortunately, ever since the days of Bernarr McFadden, the whole health and nutrition field has been rife with crackpots. During the fluoridation freakout we had the right accusing the government of forcing medication on the public, and the left insisting it was all a plot by orthodox medicine and corporations. So unless you read it in a refereed journal, the "experts" are uncomfortably likely to be cranks.

Especially when the advice is linked to a political or social agenda, it's suspect. If killing animals repels you, okay. If you try to generate opposition by claiming eating meat is unhealthy, you're a crank. Tell me it wastes energy to ship food long distances; don't give me nonsense about locally produced food being healthier. The right might not be quite so suspicious if the left hadn't been pushing moonshine like this for so long.

And you know what? Atoms are atoms. There is no difference between a molecule in nature and the identical molecule created synthetically. None. Want to tell me all about "studies" that indicate otherwise? Great. Just give me the citations from a peer-reviewed scientific journal. Nature, Science, New England Journal of Medicine, you know. Mother Jones and the Village Voice don't cut it. Neither do trade books and blogs.

Despite a little chipping around the edges, nobody has significantly improved on exercise, moderating calorie intake, and a balanced diet as the best health regimen.

Palin could do a lot of actual benefit to people's lives if she'd simply promote Linus Pauling's "Live Longer and Feel Better."
