So what's the argument here Buck? That Touré might be a truther or that he won't be slammed at Little Green Footballs? Is this a critique of Touré/CNN or just a way of rubbing something in our face and LGF?

2 Buck  Fri, Apr 8, 2011 4:31:35pm

Gus, did you know he was a truther?

My point is in the post. Did you read what I wrote?

I have never heard of Toure'. I don't watch MSNBC either. But, after seeing that article Lidane posted about CNN and practically everything on Fox News, nothing surprises me about any network or reporter any more.

Well maybe if MSNBC was covered every minute by someone like MM, and you read that site, you wold know.

Here he is (ironically) calling Trump a kook for being a birther.

9/11 Troofers and Birthers are both idiots, and it doesn't matter what network they're on. Idiocy is idiocy.

Agreed. But we need to know who they are...

Buck, you don't seem to appreciate the irony. Fox News presents itself as the voice of patriotic, conservative America. 9/11 conspiracy theorizing was presented for years as the province of the loony left. Even Glenn Beck has said that 9/11 conspiracy people are "dangerous." Yet Fox News lets Napolitano contribute and from what I understand he's either appeared on Beck's show or substitute hosted his radio program. That's rather ironic, to put it mildly.

While it's good that people like Toure are exposed, it seems rather unrealistic for you to expect the people who use Napolitano to attack Fox's credibility to devote the same time and energy to attacking MSNBC for having Toure as a contributor. Those people have many other problems with Fox besides Napolitano, and discrediting Fox has a higher priority for them than discrediting MSNBC.

On the other hand, nothing is keeping YOU from shouting your expose of Toure from the rooftops.

The Unique Vibrations of Your Skull Affect How You Hear Music
Short but fascinating--I had a hard time choosing which paragraphs to include. The natural frequency of your head is a result of your skull’s size, density and shape, say scientists in a recent presentation at the meeting of the Acoustical Society of America, meaning that the vibrations of your skull are ever-so-slightly different than the person next to you. Measuring the natural vibrational frequency, ...

The GOP’s Steve King Problem
Earlier this year, the Republican National Committee released a 100-page report detailing how the GOP needed to retrofit its agenda and soften its tone. But if Republican officials had wanted to save time, they could have issued a shorthand summary that read: Be less like Steve King. The Iowa congressman's outspoken conservatism embodies the kind of politics that, in the RNC's own words, alienates ...

President Barack Obama is expected to use his speech at the iconic Brandenburg Gate on Wednesday to renew calls for a reduction in nuclear weapons. Jack Shafer: Snowden vs the Dragons
Reuters: But even the press in aggregate is not a friend to whistle-blowers, as its recent treatment of Snowden attests, what with the deep dives into his teen years (including photos), his education and employment history, his reputation as a loner and a “brainiac,” his pants-down hijinks, his online scribblings, his dancer girlfriend, his predilection for (in his own words) “post-coital Krispy Kremes.” Squeezing ...

Baker’s Graduation Cake Mix-Up Ends in Purr-fect Mistake
When Laura Gambrel, 22, of Zionsville, Ind., graduated from Indiana University in May, she wanted to keep the celebration pretty low key. She didn’t walk at the ceremony, nor did she have a party because she planned to go right back to the university this coming fall for grad school. It seemed only fitting then that the one thing her mother attempted to do ...

Study: Reading Fiction Makes People Comfortable With Ambiguity
Are you uncomfortable with ambiguity? It's a common condition, but a highly problematic one. The compulsion to quell that unease can inspire snap judgments, rigid thinking, and bad decision-making. Fortunately, new research suggests a simple antidote for this affliction: Read more literary fiction. A trio of University of Toronto scholars, led by psychologist Maja Djikic, report that people who have just read a short ...
