Love-Child of Cassandra and Sisyphus  May 19, 2011 • 4:47:39am

That was a good summary, done last year, and it is instructive to see that indeed a couple of the hard liners did lose their seat. It took, however, quite the emphasis by news organizations, online sites, and state and local groups to work together to bring the problem not only out into the open but allow more moderate candidates to step up.

The current problem in Texas appears to have moved a bit beyond where that article finishes. While changes to the board occurred in the last election that peeled back some of the fundamentalist zeal on the board the process which was started has its own momentum, and the decisions that were made are still being felt.

Don't Blame Me, I Voted for Kodos  May 19, 2011 • 6:22:03am

The article talks a little bit about David Barton (who Mike Huckabee says that everyone should be forced - at gunpoint - to listen to) as well. He is currently boasting that he wrote most of the proposed standards for Texas’ Science, History, Civics, and English/Literature books.

This is the David Barton to whom I’m referencing:
