It was only a matter of time. What a shame, and a waste of promising political talent.

Ready, fire, aim.

He was an idiot for lying. Should have either kept quiet or fessed up to it right away and said 'so what? If you've got it, flaunt it.'

Can't support him for lying like that, although many others, like Vitter, are still polluting DC.

I really do feel a strong sense of imbalance here. This is a trivial offense as compared to most of the DC sex scandals. Barney Frank and Bill Clinton kept their jobs... (Not picking on Dems, plenty of R scandals to go around)
What surprises me is the D leadership turning on him. Even after offering to go to rehab or therapy. That is significant by the standards of many scandals to do with booze and drugs and sex, some all at the same time.

I know weiner did it to himself but it still pisses me off that Breitbart gets a huge ego boost out of this.

As the pictures and circumstances came out it would have been seen for the misogynist and childish behavior that it is.

When I thought that it was just the picture of the underwear bulge, I could have agreed with you. However it went much further than that.

There is an attitude about women that is exposed when you you discover he was sending unsolicited naked pictures of himself to women he did not know.

I just do not see why he has to quit.

We, the ignorant and spoon-fed public, have no idea what is going on or has gone on in the backchannels. If more in the media had some firm ethics we might get a clearer understanding. One of many reasons why we respect and support Charles for what he does here.
