Says Mr. "I fuck women other than my wife because I just have So Darned Much Love for my country" I need extra outlets for all that love. We're supposed to care what this jerk who trades in wives for younger and wealthier versions on a regular basis has to say?

I care not one wit what this schmuck has to say.

re: #1 Joanne (JustJay)

According to an Esquire article I read a few years ago, Joanne, in some circles, Gingrich is also known as, "Mr. I like getting a BJ in the back seats of cars." I won't say what Gingrich can do for me because it's too obscene. My dad was a Black American male who worked hard everyday to take care of my siblings and I and my mom, and while he was doing it, he built two houses for us to live in. Gingrich is an ass who doesn't know what Black Americans are like because he's spent his entire life avoiding contact with us. Gingrich is pissed, along with millions of other republicans, because millions of other Americans don't hate the president because he's black. Tough titty. When you talk sh*t about LGBTQ Americans, Black Americans, Hispanic Americans, Muslim Americans, atheists, etc, you shouldn't be surprised that they don't like your ass.

You know, the last thing I want to do is to even appear to defend Newt Gingrich, but I think you're reaching a here in calling these things he said racist dog whistles. Which is not to say he hasn't done it in the past (the food stamp president), but I don't think he's doing that here. He's being a right wing demagogue pandering to right wing nutjobs, but I don't think he's being racist. Not here at least. For example, calling him a "false president" doesn't necessarily imply he has a propensity to shirk his duties, or that he's "lazy and shiftless," nor does questioning whether "Obama has the stamina and desire to be president" nor does suggesting he has a "false celebrity-hood." These are idiotic things to say, to be sure, but if Newt wanted to blow a dog whistle, he'd fall back on the tried and true chestnuts about Obama "arrogantly" doing this or that (suggesting he was "uppity"), or that he was "soft on crime," or suggest that he was favoring blacks over whites, or say outright that Obama is an "affirmative action president," - all of which I'm sure he'd done at one point or another over the years, but he's not doing that here. He's just being Newt, a fat, mean little man.

re: #3 thecommodore

I respect your opinion because it is subjective to determine what is or is not code words for racist slang - designed to illicit a response from racist people who will be fired up when hearing such dog whistles.

So I have no problem with anyone thoughtfully denying this is Newt being racist or using racist dog whistling.

But I have to tell you when I hear Newt say this - with the tone in his voice, all I heard was Newt use dog whistles to fire up the GOP racist base that might stay home in this election by dog whistling" "Obama is a lazy, shiftless, basketball playing N word who got where he got because of affirmative action and not his intellect and we have to get some white power going and vote him out". That is what I hear.
