Nicely done.

Bravo.

This mountain of crap from the NRA is so egregious that I think pretty strong conclusions can be derived from it.

1) They can't possibly believe their own bullshit. It's as bad as a creationist screed in terms of lying, distorting facts etc.

2) The product being sold is fear. For the purposes of generating fear, random mass shootings are highly desirable. Therefore, it is not a problem that the NRA's proposals would do nothing to help (and would most likely make the problem worse). It is a feature.

3) This is an evil proposal by evil people who want to implement evil policy using dead children as props.

(in case it isn't clear, I've been doing a slow burn about the NRA presser all day...)

I'm damn glad I left the NRA in the 90s if I hadn't I sure would have cut my card up today.

Good for you. Sane people clearly need to leave the NRA.

I left the NRA in 1993, two years after Wayne took over, I just couldn't stand the conspiracy theory bullshit he was pushing anymore. I don't care how many times he said it, I never believed that Clinton and the UN blue helmets were going to come take my guns. It turned out that I was right in the end too.

Well said. Well put. Well done. The NRA is looking to the government to protect us from their very own customers.

One of my chat buddies from another weblog told me that he did not get any broadcast emails from the NRA for a week. Clearly they are afraid of what their members might say or do.

Why doesn't Wayne care about people who go the theaters or malls? Can't we get our own NRA approved program and logo too?

Man, that is a great commentary on the BS I heard from the NRA. Where is responsible leadership? Hey Heston, I'm talking to you.
