Fidel Castro has taken all guns from civilians in Cuba. Possession of a gun will lead to years in jail. Of course, the purpose is to stop all dissent and rebellion. It works.

Bullshit. Guns are everywhere in Cuba.

There was no explanation for why the drive to legalize unlicensed weapons is coming now, though the state-run news agency Prensa Latina said the move grew out of a November 2008 law regulating possession of guns and ammunition.

According to a weekend bulletin carried by state news media, gun owners must “maintain conduct consistent with the appropriate norms of social behavior, meet security and protection conditions for the firearms and pay established taxes.”

While Cuba is among the safest countries in the hemisphere, it is not unusual to find firearms in Cuban homes

Also, as a case in point, Oswald, an American Marine defector was able to own a gun in the USSR.

Nazi Germany Gun law restricted ownership of firearms to “…persons whose trustworthiness is not in question”.

Yes, friends of the regime did get to keep their guns.

However, the targets of the Nazis had their guns confiscated and were not given permits.

That is gun control by any definition.

I agree that the comparison is silly. But that article is terrible. when your argument is “He didn’t take guns from everyone; just the Jews”, I think you’ve just lost.

America does not have a gun violence problem. Americans are just more homicidal than every other advanced nation.

With New Mini-Satellites, Special Ops Takes Its Manhunts Into Space
Some of the beacons use infrared flashes to signal their location; in 2009, al-Qaida propagandists claimed they found them all over villages that had been hit with U.S. drone strikes. Others are implanted into seemingly-innocent commercial electronics. Under "TTL examples," Richardson's presentation (.pdf) showed pictures of a cell phone and a key fob, like the kind used to open a car. Still other ...

We know how to reduce the incidence of common medical conditions but …
Obesity is on the rise-- as is the incidence of Heart Disease, Diabetes, Stroke and various forms of Cancer. And, shockingly, diseases that had in the past begun in old age are now appearing at much earlier ages. A groundbreaking scientific study showed how easily (and inexpensively) the rate of occurrence of these and other serious illness could be greatly reduced-- but this information ...

We are in the midst of the worst Washington scandal since Watergate. The reputation of the Obama White House has, among conservatives, gone from sketchy to sinister, and, among liberals, from unsatisfying to dangerous. No one likes what they're seeing. The Justice Department assault on the Associated Press and the ugly politicization of the Internal Revenue Service have left the administration's credibility deeply, ...
