Oh sorry to hear you lost your $60,000/yr engineering job! Go work at Walmart for $7.00/hr.

Part time, so they don’t have to give you any benefits. Go ahead and get two or three jobs just like it. Then try to get health insurance, if you and your family are in perfect health, for a mere $800 or so per month.

Sigh. Psychopath have their uses, don’t they?

OMG the horrors if someone makes a little more money, I hate the fucking rich not because of their money but because of their attitudes.

The system) makes it that much more expensive for (businesses) to lure workers back from the sidelines. It actually raises their labor cost. If you didn’t have the federal government essentially paying people not to work, their labor demands would naturally fall to the level at which the markets would hire them again and they would get back to work more quickly. I think it’s anti-poor to say only you get a program that’s going to make you unemployed for a longer time.

(Carlson) added, “Is this proof that the system is broken or should top earners be entitled to federal assistance if they lose their jobs?”

Don’t look now, Tucker, but you just suggested raising taxes on the rich. How positively Democratic of you.

If people who previously earned a living wage are now forced to work for a sub-minimum wage and can no longer even make ends meet, HOW IN THE FUCK ARE THEY GOING TO BUY ALL THE SHIT YOU’RE SELLING, THE SALES OF WHICH IS MAKING YOU RICH??

Oh, they totally won’t. So then you won’t be rich anymore either, DUMBASS.

low wage workers are treated horribly in this country(and especially by the right-wing media). They work their asses off, sometimes working 60 hrs a week and multiple jobs. Many of them don’t get any vacation time or health care benefits. And after all that half the country spits in their face by calling them takers.

Compare that to low-wage workers in European countries. It doesn’t matter what your job is, if you work you are entitled paid holiday time. In Britain it’s a month. I’ve lived in Britain and I know some low-wage workers. When I lived in the UK I was one. They have good lives. They live within their means. They socialize at pubs; they take holidays on the continent. They aren’t dehumanized like workers are here.

Just try to imagine what it would be like to work and work and work and never ever getting holiday time. Think you would be stressed out? And we wonder why their is so much random violence in American cities. There is a definite link.

I related this to a conservative I know. And you know what he said? “So what, if they don’t like it why don’t they get a better job.” I actually wanted to punch him in the face. The right wing has no empathy. They revel in dehumanizing what they consider “takers”. And the ironic thing is, a lot of the low-wage workers vote republican.

OK, it’s official. The conservative movement and so-called libertarians are just trolling the rest of us.

Goleta Park Our Sunday GetawayWe drove 80 miles up to this favorite spot. The weather was nice, the tides accommodating, and the waves calm. Too calm. Instead of ocean and beach, we shot wildlife in the brackish creek.
