Hannity Guest: ‘We have seen Christian Cleansing in the United States military’
Of course there is no basis at all for this claim, but why let facts get in the way of stoking Christian Persecution Syndrome?

Utter and complete bullshit with no basis in reality, just like most of their other beliefs.

Darn you Commodore, you posted the two articles I was looking at to post after dinner.
In any case, Beck is rapidly becoming a parody of a satire of himself. If I were the conspiracy minded type I’d almost think that he was being used to instigate the right-wing reaction that will bring on the civil war they so desperately seem to want.
RBS
Who can’t even tell the crazys from the simply misguided even with a scorecard any more.

The right wing propaganda machine has really been getting its hate on for the US military. They seem to throw a a new crazy distortion at the Pentagon almost every day. This is quite a change from just a few years ago.
I suggested the other day that they are preparing their gullible minions to take on the military in some kind of mass uprising. I really think the truth is a good deal more prosaic than that, though equally disgusting.
I served 30 years in the US Army, 4 active and 26 reserve, eventually retiring at O-6. I still know a lot of people and I hear a lot of things. Truth is, quite a few people in the Army and Air Force in particular have become alarmed at the huge influx of fundamentalists into the armed forces in the past 20 years. They are starting to push back by refusing to turn a blind eye to fundamentalist arrogance and disciplinary violations. The rules about proselytizing, supervisory pressure, and favortism have not changed, but they are being enforced a bit better now. This, of course, is enough to drive the entitled fundies into a blind sputtering rage. On top of this we have fundy rage at the demise of official homophobia. The result is an orgy of anti-military hate speech and lies from the increasingly insane relgious right.
This is an amazing and disturbing spectacle, with soldiers, scientists, artists, and many others brought together as the common targets of a virulent revival of superstition in the modern world.
