As for the classmates who have attacked him over his lunch bag, Grayson is heartbreakingly measured in his response. “They’re taking it a little too far with, you know, punching me, pushing me down, calling me horrible names,” he told WLOS ABC News 13. “Stuff that really shouldn’t happen.”

That’s a good kid.

I can guarantee you that the school simply assumes he’s queer for wanting that bag and that’s why they’re attacking him rather than the bullies. Sad stupid idiots.

That would seem to be a plausible explanation ; when logically the bullies ,should be subject to discipline?

Of course the North Carolina school system is doing the wrong thing. Unfortunately, IT’S NORTH CAROLINA!

An initial step was taken to immediately address a situation that had created a disruption in the classroom.

I knew immediately that was how they were going to frame their decision. The SCOTUS gave schools nearly unlimited latitude in banning “disruptive” speech, clothing or possessions and calling the lunchbox “disruptive” will pretty much immunize them legally even though the owner is the actual victim.

It’s stupid because this won’t stop the bullying. May in fact make it even worse.

The school is following the path of least resistance. Going after one student means dealing with only one set of parents, while dealing with 3-5 bullies might mean dealing with ten angry parents at once. Like the Dark Side of the Force, going after the victim is the easier and quicker option.

Children figure out quickly that its easier to join the bully’s side than to help the victims. That the school administrators followed this same path proves that they’re not adults themselves and are therefore unfit to educate, nor otherwise care for, other people’s children. Its as pitiful as it is disgusting.
