Related: Halliburton, Baker Hughes to lay off thousands as oil slumps

I really find the oil companies’ rush to cut jobs and close facilities on the first hint of a downturn, especially on the heels of their record profits during the past decade and a half.

Then again, it’s always been easier for them to cut a thousand jobs from the workforce than it is to reduce the multi-million dollar executive payrolls by even one percent.

of course Keystone would be a money-losing proposition now if it were approved a year ago. The oil industry and their investors should kiss Obama’s a** repeatedly for saving their skins and their $$$ money as they would have been suffering a HUGE loss right now.

Of course the GOP will now complain bitterly that cheap oil prices are destructive to the economy, right after they were saying that high oil prices were destroying the economy. The GOP will say anything sucks if it inures benefit to the President, no matter how BS it is - like energy prices.

The GOP has been harping about cheap oil that would be coming if Keystone is done, and yet oil prices have cratered without its approval, and it’s also meant that the oil producing countries like Iran, Russia and Venezuela are hurting because they’re not getting the revenues they need to sustain their economies.

Now, they say that’s all a bad thing.

They’re certifiable.

re: #4 lawhawk

Not certifiable. Just very good liars with brass balls. You and I for an example, see the hypocrisy. Most here do. The sad and disturbing part is why are these jackals still in power to the extent they are? The Democratic party should have another epiphany and realize to a large part of Americans, they are no different than the Republicans. Of the same cloth. We know better, but in reality the Democrats have failed to take advantage of any advances they ever made. Some Democrats are actually against the Democratic Party, and vote only to save their own skin. Counting coup when you have not any touches or scars gets you nowhere.

Let’s be real, wingnuts only bitch and whine about high oil prices when they aren’t the ones benefiting from it.
