In a major setback to Israel’s space program, a rocket carrying the most-advanced Israeli communications satellite in history exploded on the launchpad at the Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral, Florida, on Thursday, destroying the $200 million device just two days before it was scheduled to take off into space.
