Quoth the raven, Covfefe.  May 29, 2019 • 3:21:36pm

I saw this linked on Fark yesterday. Incel culture has always held a vague horror for me, in the “There but for the grace of God go I” sense. I had half of the mindset - that I was undesirable as a sexual partner - but where I managed to go right was that I didn’t hold it against them, I blamed myself and various reasons. It’s interesting to watch from my perspective because I know how much mental power I had to expend to lift myself away from that thought trap, and seeing them literally throw away money in the vain hope of finding temporary pleasure makes me smirk sadly. They’re sad, lonely boys who refuse to break their pride and admit that maybe it’s their toxic masculinity that turns women off.

I am so glad that you were able to progress past the trap that you found yourself in. I have friends that got stuck in it, turned bitter & angry, and are now raging alcoholics and truly repulsive personalities.

The fixation on looks above all else is such a sad revelation of their worldview: that the only worth a woman has is in her appearance. Thus, the only worth they have is in their appearance.

Not in accomplishment. Wittiness. Decency. Humility. Any of the good qualities that make people interesting, attractive, or at least tolerable.

I just watched an episode of Elementary about incels. Sherlock was not kind, so it was pretty funny.

imdb.com

It’s available on Amazon, Hulu, and CBS All-Access.
