I posted this today on Twitter, and got immediately barraged by Bernie fans telling me he didn’t really say this, or he said it but he didn’t mean that exactly, and I was “stupid” for thinking so. Another one tweeted a “Butthurt Form” at me.

So yeah, you can split hairs and say he was referring to applying pressure to get the laws overturned, but this is part of a pattern of promising things he’ll never be able to deliver.

President can’t do the heavy lifting on this. If the cases were overturned, he’d be freeloading.

Compare and contrast with Obama and same sex marriage, or gays in the military. I flatly don’t think Sanders has the patience for that kind of work.
