Great news…it not only frees him up to run a positive campaign based on his record as governor, but it also frees him up to enact laws that will be popular with the majority of Floridians between now and when he leaves office, as he won’t be as beholden to the party.

Whether he caucuses with the Democrats or not (if he wins) is another thing entirely…but given the treatment he’s received from the GOP, I can’t see him running back to them with open arms saying, “no hard feelings” after the election…or vice versa (though they’d be begging for him to stand firm against Obama on all things great and small).
