I noticed that Pence, whenever confronted with a position or policy Trump has advocated, insisted upon telling us that “a Trump/Pence ticket” would not actually follow that. Not “Trump will not,” but “a Trump/Pence ticket.” You could not have more clearly telegraphed that Pence thinks he’s the one who’s running for the White House.
