Oh, God. I hope this is as stressful on them, stirring the pot, as it is on the rest of us! May they fly apart at the seams!

Bannon is a fan of a cyclic theory of America history where paradigm changes happen every 80 years. He also thinks those changes are bound to large wars, and that a war…on the scale of WW2, may be necessary to actually implement the full scale of social and political chaos he wants to see.

Also, Bannon et al do not feel bound by any precedent in US history, legal or otherwise. They see us as a Tabula Rasa to remake.
