In my humble experience and observations, what the Middle Eastern countries understand is raw, unadulterated power. They might not like it but they respect it. As evidenced by the fact that almost all of their countries are controlled by strong men.
They see conciliation and negotiation as a sign of weakness, to be exploited. I know I’m having a blinding flash of the obvious but wanted to say it anyway……..
