Now Clinton Begs Iran to Unclench

World • Views: 3,014

Oh, for Pete’s sake.

When did this kind of touchy-feely, please-don’t-hurt-me, infantile pleading to “unclench your fist” become the basis of America’s foreign policy? Never mind, I know: January 20, 2009.

Clinton Repeats Obama on Iran: ‘Reaching Out a Hand, but the Fist Has to Unclench’.

Secretary Hillary Clinton repeated President Barack Obama’s words on Iran from an interview last month with al Arabiya television.

“Iran has an opportunity to step up and become a productive member of the international community,” she said after a meeting with British Foreign Secretary David Miliband. “As president Obama said, we are reaching out a hand, but the fist has to unclench.”

On a day when Iran launches a satellite into orbit. This is pathetic.

Well, at least they are making the point that Iran is not a “productive member of the international community.”

Hillary Clinton IS pathetic.

3 Desert Dog  Tue, Feb 3, 2009 2:47:22pm

The Iranians will look at this as weakness and will take this opportunity to walk all over Hillary and her boss, President Unicorn.

They will get nukes on his watch and there is very little he will do about it.

4 winston06  Tue, Feb 3, 2009 2:47:26pm

Clinton should come clean about his associations with the Iranian regime lobby in the US. Saeed Namazi is a well known Iranian regime lobbyist and Clinton donor.

That headline just caused me to shudder.

Reach out a hand, unclench your fists,
now join hands, the world over, and we all play,
ring around the rosie….
This reaching out crap is so juvenile.

Maybe if we give Iran a bailout they’ll leave us alone?

/when wimps run countries.

9 gclaghorn  Tue, Feb 3, 2009 2:48:39pm

Oh, thank God! For a minute I was worried that Iran was planning evil deeds again, or something wacky like that. I’m sure glad Hillary took care of that sticky situation for us.

In my humble experience and observations, what the Middle Eastern countries understand is raw, unadulterated power. They might not like it but they respect it. As evidenced by the fact that almost all of their countries are controlled by strong men.
They see conciliation and negotiation as a sign of weakness, to be exploited. I know I’m having a blinding flash of the obvious but wanted to say it anyway……..

Back when I was in Jr. High School there was this kid who would pick on me all the time for no reason at all. One day I walked up to him, held out my hand, and said, “I don’t know what you have against me, can’t we just be friends.” His fist clenched and I got a punch in the stomach (this is a true story). I learned a valuable lesson that day.

And he thought he’d had a great day.

Unfortunate, we are witnessing what a tepid American administration is like for those never having the luxury of living through the Carter years.

This time around, the stakes are massive. A nuclear Iran with proxies situating in South America, North America, and almost 360 degrees around Israel.

We could not have picked a worse time to elect someone to cut their teeth with international diplomacy, and defense.

We will reap the consequences that an ignorant American electorate has sown.

Ali is scum. He joined the Nation of Islam, taking the Muslim name “Muhammad Ali.” The Vietnam War then interrupted Ali’s career. In 1967, he was inducted into the military, but he refused to serve, saying his religious beliefs forbade him to fight. While some Americans praised Ali for risking prison to stand up for his beliefs, others called him a draft dodger and traitor.

Never.

Bill Clinton apologized to Iran when he was president.

I am not being condescending, read up on the history of Dulles, Mossedegah, etc.

It won’t work. It has not worked. It will not work.

This is why they feel comfortable pushing the envelope. Do you recall Kerry commenting while he was running for President, he would be willing to supply nuclear fuel to Iran if they declare it would be for peaceful purposes?

We already have a track record on giving dictatorships nuclear fuel.

I am seriously not trying to insult you, but do you realize what it looks like when you posts comments like this?

Letter from Paducah, Kentucky

“The word from utility workers with direct Katrina experience is that ice storm devastation to western Kentucky’s power grid is worse than that inflicted by the infamous Gulf Coast hurricane.
“We’ve got linemen here from southern Mississippi who were there when Katrina hit, who worked the area after the hurricane,” said Kevin Inglish, a spokesman for West Kentucky Rural Electric Cooperative Corp.”

What stands [out] to me [is that] there [are] no news anchors from any of the Big 3 or any cable news channel including Fox News; No Sheperd Smith or Greta or any satellite trucks to document the devastation or two hour gas lines or the mad rush for generators at Home Depot.
Unfortunately they also won’t document that no one is crying for the federal government or FEMA as everyone is just taking care of business without them thank you very much…

India warns Obama over Kashmir

For all the time I spent in India and all the Bush-bashing I heard, it wasn’t until after Bush was gone did they admit that Bush was a good friend to India and this marked the end of a prosperous 8-year relationship and the beginning of the unknown (and this was just months after the insane press there blamed him for screwing them on the nuclear deal— the same deal where he made sure they went to the front of the line in order to get access to the technology that would rocket them to the developed world with regard to energy for their rapid growth- something no other country had been granted)

Something tells me, no matter how much bush-bashing had become an international sport- that a large portion of the world understands we are all now truly fucked.

So Obama goes to talk 2d Graders

WASHINGTON (AP) - On the rockiest day of his young administration, President Barack Obama did what surely made him happy for a while.

He left.

With little notice, the president and first lady Michelle Obama bolted the gated compound of 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. in their tank of a limousine on Tuesday. They ended up at a Washington public school, greeted by children who could not care less about the collapse of a Cabinet secretary nomination.

“We were just tired of being in the White House,” the president candidly told the gleeful second-graders at Capital City Public Charter School.

“We got out! They let us out!” Mrs. Obama said as the kids and their teachers laughed.

How cute. GET THE FUCK BACK TO WORK.

For holding on to mugs? Or PFCs? Or LTs? Have you witnessed an upset 1SG? Not pretty. There was this poor female soldier who had gotten in a tiff with another soldier, she came to my husband’s office and I happened to be there, which is really odd because I hardly ever, EVER go to his office. Anyway, she comes in crying and I’m thinking get this girl a kleenex, sit her down and find out what’s wrong. Not him! Oh no! He starts yelling “PULL YOURSELF TOGETHER, SOLDIER!” and then a bunch of other stuff while this poor girl has her arms behind her back looking straight forward. Ay yi yi. I wanted a hole to swallow me up!

The One is on CBS is bullshit is covering the whole screen and I can’t even see him anymore.

They’re running a taped interview with him on NBC News right now.

The sound coming out of my furnace blower is more coherent.

“I screwed up” (Did. You. Ever.)

“We have lots of outstanding people” (Example; Chu at Energy-an AGW “advocate”. Right.)

“This was a personal embarrassment for me” (Correct-a-mundo, Barry!)

“Our people are ethical and experienced” (Like Tim Geithner? The only thing more embarrassing than The One putting him up is that my soon-to-be-retiring senator, Voinovich, voted to confirm the yutz.)

Why is it I have this feeling that if a big flash of light and a mushroom cloud suddenly marked the (former) site of an American city, The One would immediately issue a statement saying that “Our foreign policy has been broadly successful, but obviously some elements need some fine-tuning”?

///

All would have been great fights, but no one put a glove on him in his prime. Later yes, he was punished.

Norton broke his jaw and he finished the fight but lost…he knocked out both Frazier and Foreman altho beat the shit out of him….he was punished by Spinks and Berbick well after his prime….he’s a legend

Not to mention alibi-ing for appeasement by pretending that “student uprisings” in town squares were going to ultimately reform Iran.
That school-of-thought has been thoroughly discredited, but I used to hear it all the time.

“Student protests” in Iran for the last three decades have generally been followed by a dearth of said students showing up for school in the days following.

The Revolutionary Guards regard such gatherings as a great way to find out who might be a problem down the road without having to work hard at it.

The hairs on a nettle usually grow along a grain. You can crush them flat with your bare hand, if you have the callouses for it. Not that I intend to fisk a nursery rhyme for its content anyway.

Yeah, okay. The ones I was thinking of have these great big spines on them (hairs too) and they’re very stiff. No way can you grab those things without getting bit. Plus they break off and burrow into your skin. I’ll get my calluses from wielding a mattock or hoe thank you.

I cannot believe the amount of air-time Obama is given each and every day — The One is on the air for hours each day (ditto for his wife and kids) — with the interviews, with the glad-handing, with the swooning press, with the softball questions, the fuzzy-warm kisses and hugs from the media, this is all growing increasingly nauseating…Meanwhile the blunders, stumbles, and outright mistakes made by Obama and his crew of half-wits continue to grow…

Thats awesome! Our 1SG would never yell, he was very soft spoken. But when he got that little half smile and that twinkle in his eye, you knew you were in trouble. Our last company smoking (for reasons still unknown to me) we did over 1,000 side straddle hops, among many other “reindeer games”. Don’t f—k with a good 1SG.

How is that? Maybe after a little Bush-style regime change they might be ready to join the international community.

I hope everyone who refused to vote for McCain because he wasn’t conservative enough are fucking happy now!

Well, I did vote for McCain (I did throw up in my mouth a little) but don’t go blaming this moron’s election on those who couldn’t bring themselves to vote for someone who is a tepid conservative at best and a smart-ass know it all media whore who was so concerned to “play fair” and fumbled opportunity after opportunity so that he got his a$$ handed to him. McCain earned all those adjectives. He spent a lot of time cultivating that persona.

McCain LOST THE ELECTION. No one else made him decide to do the stupid egotistic fuddy-duddy things he did. He even got a 2nd wind from Sarah (a decision the results of which, I believe, surprised the sh!t out of him) and he p!ssed that away too. (he did it so badly that if I was some conspiracy nutjob, it woudn’t be hard to conjure up a scenario where he agreed to be a stalking horse for Obama in return for some unknown return favor or he’s got a cemetary in his closet and the O got the dope from the Hidabeast {which is why she’s now SoS})
No. No one should be blamed for deciding that their principles wouldn’t allow them to vote for someone they didn’t want as President.
We vote to elect a man and we hope and expect him to be the President. How can anyone vote for someone that they don’t feel is qualified for the job.

528 Perplexed  Tue, Feb 3, 2009 4:12:52pm

The lesser of two evils is still less evil.

You are faced with a choice;
You can be in a room 5 ft away from a 10kilo A-Bomb detonation.
OR
You can be in a room 5 kilometers away from a 10meg H-bomb detonation.

Either choice; YOU ARE TOAST!

Just a matter of degree. (pun intended)

And it is only 2 weeks into The One’s dictatorship Presidency.

I hope those who sat on their asses and refused to vote for McCain will take the responsibility for what they have done, not only to this country, but to their own children, grandchildren, and children yet to be born.

There is no such thing as a perfect candidate, and in this case, it was a simple matter of voting for the far lesser evil of 2 candidates.

We have been, up until January 20, 2009, a democracy unlike any other on this earth. Now? Sitting there with buyers’ remorse by those who were doped and duped enough into voting for Hussein is, to me, less deplorable that sitting at home, pouting, and saying ‘Hell, no, I won’t go to vote’…waaaah, I didn’t get the one I wanted so I am going to let whoever win.

Anyone who sat home because McCain was not a true Republican can take the blame for this. You could have made the difference.

We voted for McCain, and sat there sickened on election night. And now? We feel worse each day.

Thanks, Mandy, for just telling the truth.
